U.N. Special Envoy to Haiti Bill Clinton was stunned by the devastation. The former president remained hopeful that Haiti can recover and vowed to fight for more aid.
PORT-AU-PRINCE -- As the United States moved to take over Haitian government-run aid distribution centers Monday, a teary-eyed former President Bill Clinton saw first-hand the destructive scars of Haiti's biggest natural disaster.

And he took Chelsea with him. WHY???
“Where is Miss Haiti?”
lol
“And he took Chelsea with him. WHY???”
It will be part of her profile when she runs for office someday.
This is the second time this week a scene moved Bill Clinton to tears. The first time was over the weekend when Clinton came to Massachusetts to campaign for Martha Coakley...
I challenge any of you to go down there and not tear up. I can hardly watch it on TV without tearing up.
I think that Bill Clinton should buy Haiti (he could get it at a steep discount right now) and designate himself The Great White Emperor. He could reign like all the Grand Pooh Bahs in charge of such places in early 20th century Brit and American literature.
As Grand Potentate, he could run all his rackets—including the drug trade—unencumbered by US laws. He could have a large and nubile harem.
Best of all, he would only see Hillary on the rare occasions when her job as Sec State took her down that way.
(No, seriously, I wouldn’t wish that on the Haitian people. They have suffered enough alredy.)
Bill Clinton doesn’t have a sincere bone in his body. ANY tears he conjures up is suspect, no matter what he’s viewing at the time.
“ We took care of the medical evidence and that damned Navy Doctor...”
******
“...and that was after we took care of the young, female USAF cabin attendant that (reportedly) survived the impact.”
Fox News reported yesterday that 3 billion dollars has poured into Haiti since 1982.
What good did it do?
Then you need to make a deal with Castro and give him his cut, or he will do another Mariel boat lift and shut it all down like he did the first time with the Mariel boat lift.
The Haitian boat lift had the same effect until Bill Clinton invaded Haiti and ended it. Jorge Cabrera loved BC so much for getting rid of the Haitian boat lift and making it easier to bring in the dope, he gave BC $20,000 to get reelected.
You're not a cynic, you're a realist.
If they had just divied up all of that money in individual accounts for each of the 9 million Haitians they would all be millionaires. Something tells me that they wouldn't be living in squalor if they could have decided how to spend that money themselves.
Bill Clinton doesn’t have to buy Haiti. The UN put him in charge of assisting Haiti before the earthquake and now 0baMao put him in charge of raising money, through the government, for Haiti. Hillary is in charge of overseeing relief efforts and immigration issues. What’s left for the Toons to take charge of?
You’re right. The Clintons have that country pretty well tied up right now.
So, no one can say the mess is Bush’s fault.
On another thread earlier this morning, someone mentioned Chelsea quit her job on Wall Street and returned to grad school for an advanced degree in Public Health.
Wonder if her latest engagement was canceled, then she didn’t want to face her co-workers, and this is the reason for a career change.
[FYI - #48.]
Slick was strolling along laughing at a joke probably told to him by his "religious counselor," when spotting cameras, immediately tears began flowing profusely from his eyes.
I shouldn't be surprised by the narcissism of that statement ... OK, I wasn't surprised. It does show how long they have had their hooks in that basket case of a country. And look how far it's come! /s
The relief worker I mentioned before said Haiti is worse now than it was in 1990. Way to go, Clintoons!
Translation: “Dang, there are no hot babes here.”
Real tears or funeral tears?
"But the important thing for the American people to know is that -- I've been going down there since December of 1975, when Hillary and I took a delayed wedding trip there."
My memory of that quote wasn't bad.
