Joe Scarborough has expressed serious doubts as to his Republican affiliation, and made clear that House GOP whip Eric Cantor "is not my friend." But caution to those who assume Joe has gone left: he has clarified to this NewsBuster that his critique of the GOP comes from the right . . .
Scarborough's stunning comments came on today's Morning Joe in response to Dem Bob Shrum's taunting of Joe over his ostensible GOP membership, in the context of Pres. Obama's attempt to rescue Martha Coakley from the rubble of her campaign.

The squishy middle is a hard position to defend. Not so sorry to see Joe go (if he does).
Watched Joe this am and when he said the POTUS had 5,000 people at his rally for Coakley in Boston yesterday it just reinforced what I knew about him already. The capacity of the hall where Coakley spoke is 2,500 people, I watch her and Barry speak and the camera panned around to show some EMPTY seats so there were not even 2500 people present. Joe has been carrying water for PMSNBC’s left wing GE bosses since he started there.
Just looking who he had on as guests today tells you everything you need to know about the politics of his show. ALL liberals, from the former mayor of New Orleans, to Bob Frum, to Mark Halperin, to Prissy Chris Mathews. They were all apopleptic about about possible Coakley loss, which made watching them at least tolerable.
Thank heavens my radio station took him (and that awful woman) out of their morning lineup and substituted Chris Plante, who AT LEAST knows whose side he is on.
Every once in a while even he has a V-8 moment. I think Joe is about due for one.
Scarborough is poltiically amoral, he will go with whatever he thinks will drive up his ratings. The only reason he was in the GOP cause they were winning. Now that they are sinking, like a good rat, he is jumping ship
I’d invite readers to read Scarborough’s statement at NewsBusters where he makes a critique of the GOP from the right and singles out Ron Paul, Paul Ryan and John Shadegg as his kind of Republican.
When I think about all those conservative floor speeches he used to give during the Clinton impeachment days I just shake my head. It would be comical if it weren't so pathetic.
Some people just cannot be bought. Obviously Joe ain't one of them.
I caught that remark too. Notice he threw it out there immediately? I think it was the first line in his script.
Some less-generous person might even call it a lie.
This is what happens when you make a deal with the (liberal) devil. Now you depend on their money for your livelihood dontcha Joe? BTW, what is the ratings of this clowns shoe? According to this link: http://www.observer.com/2009/media/morning-joe-piping-hot-year-ago-steadily-loses-steam not very good. I guess you’ll do anything to save your flagging show huh? Including selling your soul...
WMAL! Man, it was horrible with Joe and Mika for 2 hours. Chris Plante is hilarious.
Stockholm syndrome
Hint to Joe: We knew that a long time ago.
This is the way it happens! First you’re not sure you’re a conservative... then you’re not sure your heterosexual. who knows what’s next. finally you’re a democrat!
He is so funny, and so on target.
We knew then you had sold your sole for a pocket of silver. ( Why no investigation of the young girl who died in your Fort Walton office?)
well the RNC/GOP and Dc elites are really anything to brag about.
Millions not Billions.
He’s a flaming ‘Rat.
