Really, there's precious little fairness in the world. People tend to be slaves to emotion, and prejudices often reign supreme, even (in fact, especially) in those who rail against prejudice. This is why we'll see millions of Americans reflexively dismiss a politician simply because of the letter following his name. It is why people will often oppose a position they would otherwise support simply because it's being advocated by someone they dislike. Ah, that troublesome human nature.
This brings us to Sarah Palin, the Wasilla woman often billed as the best hope of the GOP. She certainly isn't one of those plain vanilla characters who inspire blasé reactions, that's for sure. It's just so often the case that people either love her or hate her, believe she is the cat's meow or the pig with lipstick, a political sensation or a puerile simpleton. I'm in neither camp.
Scrape away the emotionalism, and one realizes that Palin isn't at either extreme. Underestimated by the left and overestimated by the right, the truth about her lies somewhere in between. Where, exactly? That is secondary, because there is a more important point here relating to Palin's political future.
She doesn't have one.
I know this will raise the hackles of many, but you can forget Sarah Palin. I say this not because of her defects in ideology or lack of competency, but for a very simple reason: She has been Quayled.
Many of you know that I'm referring to what ensued after former Vice President Dan Quayle gave a public appearance at a school spelling bee in Trenton, New Jersey in 1992.

Yep, and he looked good too. Unfortunately there was no significant internet presence, or maybe no internet at all, during the pillaging of Dan Quayle, things might have turned out a bit differently.
The difference is that We the People have been "Borked" over by the media for so long now we aren't buying it. In the final analysis the media themselves are the ones looking and sounding moronic. Anyone with half a brain and a third of their memory can distinguish between the media's politically driven drifts of socialist balogna that are piling up all over the place and the prime cuts of constitutional concepts being articlulated through Sarah Palin.
I think a bit of mustard might improve the article.
The usual Palin bashing is - family, female, non ivy league,
speaks with north midwest accent.
Not the issues.
The bashers are insecure with themselves and they transfer that onto Sarah Palin
If Sarah declares, I will decamp and go to work on her campaign. Wifey has been given notice.
I figure she can use a retired lawyer who grew up in Canada.I still have moose hair in my hunting socks.
Sarah will take back the party for Reagan conservatism.I am ready to rock.
The Vermont Republican Party is chaired by a man who I ran a real estate business with for 5 years in the 1990s. They have been askinng me for money. I have said not one cent until I KNOW the Vermont Republican party declares for Palin, then I write you checks.GET THE MESSAGE I SAID. The Vermont party is controlled by Country Club Republicans who brought us the likes of that traitor, Jumpin Jim Jeffords. That must change.
In this way Sarah will change the whole country, we who support her are legion, and we must begin to stand firm at the state level.Articles like this crap are designed to prevent that.
A big stinky pile of bovine poop.
LLS
This is why Sarah's accepting the job of a Fox News TV contributor is just as important--if not more so--as her Facebook /Twitter postings and her autobiography.
IF she is NOT out front and speaking to the American people on a weekly, bi-weekly or monthly rate about the most critical national issues for Americans...
...then the Soros-Socialist-Propoganda Machine gets to define her once again to the public like they did in 2008.
WHO?
Evidently we should never have chosen the Gipper. And yet we did,
These people have to be really, really terrified of Sarah, if they are already trying to declare her political life as “dead”.
I detect the liberals are BEGINNING to see what’s coming .. and it’s not in their favor .. and that would tend to favor Sarah .. so why not declare her already out of the race .. ROTFLOL!!
That’s what the repubs thought about Reaganism too!!
Well thats your problem, not mine.Read her book, maybe that will help.A little knowledge never hurt anyone.
The last time I saw him interviewed he said he has been playing lots of golf. From what I hear, he's very good at it.
Rasmussen Reports that 75% of GOP voters feel that GOP Congressional leaders do not reflect their values.
This is where Palin’s support comes from. The more GOP insiders like Steve Schmindt trash her, the stronger her support among conservatives grows. If you want Palin out of the way, then you will have to make concessions to Palin supporters in the same matter as Obama did to Ben Nelson, or else Palin supporters might vote 3rd party to teach RINOs a lesson.
Reality:
Either they've been hacked or the editor-in-chief is duct taped inside a broom closet waiting to be rescued.
Up to now, American Thinker was my favorite website for conservative commentary. Far ahead of the pack.
If the supporters of Palin fail to respond and be positive about their belief in her, to those detractors, she will suffer the fate of Dan Quayle. BUT, I don’t see her supporters staying mum. Go Sarah.
Presstitutes should have died for the job they did on him
So all we have to do is find a candidate that the left doesn’t make fun of and attack??
So we pick a leftist?
That is the message here.
NO WAY
She is now a part-time commentator on Fox, which is, IMHO, a brilliant end-around the barricade the liberal media are trying to erect. None of this is accidental.
What is sad is that commentators such as Duke are so easily swayed by the public relations end of this without, apparently, comprehending that they can be changed. The whole stupid, corrupt, superficial game can be changed, and it is being changed.
It is also sad that Palin's very real credentials are being dismissed by people who ought to know better. There are very few public figures as conversant with the nitty-gritty of energy policy as she, very few with the track record of actually cutting government waste while in office. There are also very few whose entire political career is highlighted by opposition from the established power brokers in both parties. It isn't any great surprise that the Dukes, the Noonans, the Brooks's and Frums and Wills's are sniping at her. The same bunch did so in Alaska as well. On thing I will promise Mr. Duke - we haven't heard the last of Sarah Palin. He'd better get used to it.
Mike Pence
John Thune
Jim DeMint
That’s my short list right now.
He wrote this brilliant article.

and as sad as the present article is I fear he is correct.
