Now California GOP Candidates Closing In On Barbara Boxer
Economic Policy Journal ^ | 1/17/10 | Robert Wenzel

California Senator Barbara Boxer is now the latest Democratic incumbent to find herself in a tightening race for reelection.

A new Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of likely California voters finds Boxer with narrow leads over her three leading Republican challengers, including newcomer Tom Campbell.

Boxer leads former Hewlett-Packard CEO Carly Fiorina by just three points, 46% to 43%. In November, Boxer was also at the 46% level of support but led Fiorina by nine points.

The longtime Democratic senator runs best right now against state Assemblyman Chuck Devore, beating him by six points, 46% to 40%. Two months ago, though, she posted a 10-point lead on DeVore, 49% to 39%.

As for Campbell, the ex-congressman and former state finance director who on Thursday quit the governor’s race to jump into the Senate contest, Boxer leads him by just four points, 46% to 42%.

I’d love it if that embarassing disgrace Boxer were voted out. It would be one good thing California’s done.

How delicious, if Boxer loses this one. The day just might come when she wishes people would address her as ma’am.

Let’s be honest, these senators are skunks and the fact they can get reelected at all is a sad testament to a lot of the population’s ignorance.

She shouldn’t even have a lead.

Here in NJ, we have a nasty senator, Frank Lautenberg, who does absolutely nothing and people just vote him in like it’s a religious duty. The guy does nothing, is hated by his fellow senators, and is nasty to constituents. For which he is well loved in return. Yuck.

I’d love to see that mini-moron Boxer thrown out on her socialist back-side. As Michael Savage has said, “Boxer isn’t qualified to be a clerk in a brassiere shop in Brooklyn.”

Her buddies in Hollywood loved her for that.

I like Tom Campbell because he appeals to moderates. He can bring in the independents. He's not my brand of conservative but he's conservative enough particularly on economic issues. Remember this is lunatic California. We have to have a candidate who can win.

Boxer needs to go and it can't be soon enough. This wretched woman has done so much damage. Besides that, she's simply dumb as a box of rocks.

I will support any of the Republicans who run against her. I will work like crazy. This is one of the most important races in November.

I've got a lot of conservative candidates to support: Peter Schiff (Conn), Nevada Republican (whoever that is), possibly Rubio in Florida. And that not even mentioning the House Races. I'm going directly to the Candidates that I like and think can win. I'm not giving any more money to RNC until I see some changes.

Nail the b!tch! Ride her out on a rail, arrogant harpy that she is! I’m praying there comes a FLOOD of voter resentment this November and the scourge of socialism is cast out of our body politic, it has NO PLACE in America and should NEVER be tolerated, not for a moment.

You’re from “Joisey?’’ I’m from “Joisey’’ too(Ocean Co. by way of Hudson Co.) I can’t believe Frank “the Fossil’’ is still breathing. But then again this IS New Jersey and the Dems are always good at ‘’digging up’’ some old retread all the time. heck, in Hudson County the dead vote all the time!

Boxer - if ever there was a last name that would fit her, that’s the right name for her.

Let’s hope “Ma’am” goes down in flames. The day after election day might be a very happy one for conservatives!

Hey, my dog finds that offensive! Although he does tend to emphasize his heritage as Golden Retriever and minimize the Boxer part.

Incredible. Americans are great people. It only took 12 months for the populus to realize that this experiment in socialism would fail.

In other parts of the world it takes many years and sometimes decades.
