Bay State Attorney General Martha Coakley blamed GOP stalkers today for triggering tensions outside a Washington, D.C., fund-raiser last night where a Weekly Standard reporter said he was roughed up by a Coakley campaign worker.
Coakley, a Democrat, is in a red-hot race for U.S. Senate against GOP rival Scott Brown, where a poll out today places the two only 2 points apart closing in on the Jan. 19 special election. The post-fundraiser fury has now sent both camps scrambling.

A stalker stumbled? Coakley’s toast.
So journalist are now equivalent to stalkers? Gotta admit it make sense.
Next thing you know this thug will be running for the Senate too!
Shades of Franken. Even looks like him.
Is her hired thug wearing an SEIU shirt under his suit coat?
Evidently so.
Carling, I saw info from Legal Insurrection (via Twitter) that the shover, Michael Meehan is an Obama appointee to the Broadcast Board of Governors. LI has it up right now...
Here is a link to a thread I started on this ‘break’ in the story:

Apparently, she just doesn’t have the time to take some bimbo out to Chappaquidick and dump her in the water in her car to drown. So she has a reporter roughed-up instead.
She is the top justice official in her state and this is who she surrounds herself with? Says a lot about her character and the kind of senator she will be. Typical for the era of BH0 Dems though.
She says this was the result of previous “stalkers”...So where are the police reports of these previous “events”, if they were of such a nature that violence is considered an appropriate defense towards people asking questions?
Exactly. Just like a racist is a conservative who is winning an argument with a liberal.
Heh heh. Yup!
The donks/libs want violence. They are begging for it.
Politician’s Definition of “Stalker”,,,,, A pesky constituent or journalist (representing MANY constituents) insisting the politician answer an inconvenient or embarrassing question.
Fallen? LOL! Right! And I guess having that goon continue in the face of that guy was just an accident too. He’d have a broken jaw if he was in my face that way. That’s pretty rich...and disappointing that the “reporter” was such a wimp.
This reporter should slap a civil suit on Coakley for slander and defamation of character. He’s trying to do his job, and she labels him a “stalker”, which is a pejorative and an actual legal term.
A Ross Perot moment. They’re out to get me.
Worked well for Ross. Hopefully, it will work just as well for this corruptocrat.
“where a Weekly Standard reporter said he was roughed up by a Coakley campaign worker”
And why not? The Panthers got away with voter intimidation. SEIU members got away with roughing a vendor up. The dems will simply sweep it under the rug.
Meehan caught in a lie
“He added McCormack was not wearing a press credential and refused to identify himself when Meehan asked who he was.
He wouldnt tell me who he was and he wouldnt tell me who he works for, said Meehan. Reporters get to ask questions. Thats totally legit. Republican operatives cant chase a candidate down the street.
In the video clip you can hear the reporter say where he works..
Btw, is there some kind of law that a Republican operative can’t run after a candidate and ask a question...
I'll tell you, ol' Congresscritter Canoli in Fairfax county Virginia is sure going to be upset with that change in the rules.
He'll be smacked down over and over and over if this new tactic catches on.
