MOREHEAD CITY, N.C. (AP) - Officials shut down a North Carolina port and urged people to leave the area Tuesday after nine containers with highly explosive materials were punctured. Morehead City Fire Chief Wes Lail told television station WTVD that the chemical involved is pentaerythritol tetranitrate, a powerful explosive.
Authorities did not immediately say how big the containers were or how they were damaged.

Pretty noticeable that no one on site or the media is even speculating. Does that have anything to do with Miranda Rights...or is the chase on...
Sounds like an NCIS LA case...

Seems PETN is showing up fairly often right now. The preferred substance for panty bombers from the ROP.

It is interesting that the "how" aspect is not even hinted at yet. It's been hours now. I guess it's also possible that they were just discovered that way, and have no idea.

NINE containers?
Sounds planned and malicious in intent.

Could very well be a malicious act, or someone drunk on the job. But these days, it could be some recent convert seeking martyrdom with a forklift, thinking they might explode by ramming them with the forks.

You know, that used to be my favorite restaurant. When DH was stationed at Cherry Point, we would go a lot. After being away for 35 years, we went back last summer. It was awful. No more panfried shrimp. Just like any food any where. Found a great one in Emerald Isle, but can’t remember the name.
