Palin 'thrilled' to join Fox News

After spending five months pondering a fat stack of TV offers, former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin has signed a multiyear deal with Fox News to serve as a contributor across all Fox News platforms.

“I am thrilled to be joining the great talent and management team at Fox News,” Palin said in the Fox announcement. “It’s wonderful to be part of a place that so values fair and balanced news.”

Palin, often described as having the hottest brand in American politics after President Barack Obama, was eagerly courted by both cable and broadcast networks, starting the day she announced she was leaving the Alaska governorship.

Bill Shine, Fox News’ executive vice president of programming, “Gov. Palin has captivated everyone on both sides of the political spectrum and we are excited to add her dynamic voice to the Fox News lineup.”

Fox said Palin will provide political commentary and analysis for Fox News Channel, Fox Business Network, FoxNews.com and Fox News-produced special event political programming for Fox Broadcasting.

Palin will also host periodic episodes of Fox News’ “Real American Stories,” a series exploring inspirational real-life tales of overcoming adversity throughout the American landscape that will debut in 2010, the network said.

The Fox announcement continued: “Gov. Palin is the author of the current No. 1 New York Times best-seller, ‘Going Rogue: An American Life.’ Her book tour to over 30 cities attracted thousands of people and extensive media coverage.

“Palin was the first woman to serve as governor of Alaska. She was sworn in as the 11th governor of the state in 2006 and worked on improving resource development, education, health and transportation and infrastructure development.

In August 2008, then Republican presidential nominee Sen. John McCain selected Gov. Palin to run as his vice presidential candidate.

Prior to holding the office of governor, Palin served two terms on the Wasilla City Council in Alaska as well as two terms as the mayor and manager of Wasilla and worked as an oil and gas industry regulator.”

And in her book, she says that we all have a megaphone. Having said that, I don’t like this move. A little mystery, a little let-them-chat-amongst-themselves-about-me wouldn’t have hurt.

Still, let me fantasize a little: Palin-Rubio ‘12. It will never come to pass, but I like it.

;~) What’s the WH gonna do boycott FOX????????

Or is this a reaction to their boycott?

Any way FOX and Sarah wins!

Freeper on another thread suggested give her a press pass and turn her loose the next time BO has a presser!

There’s no denying that she thinks (and out-thinks) fast. I’ve always like Liz Cheney’s direct approach, but even she, on being asked to say something good about 0bama, said something like, “He has a great family, .....” Palin said something like, “He has great oratorical gifts and I would like to see him start using those gifts for ......” I like it.

I do worry about over-exposure though. How does this comport with going rogue?

I didn’t say you can’t have your own opinion, its the question of what specifically makes you think that she isn’t going to run? because her actions in the last few months point to her at least considering it strongly, Whether or not she can win or not is not the issue right now because its to far away from 2012....

I keep hearing, every time she does something “Well that’s it, this proves she isn’t running” while she continues to be moving forward and getting stronger. How many times did some on here kept saying that “she’s finish” last year had to eat their words.

Agreed. If one takes the view that experience is experience, she has it in spades. If we must draw distinctions in the type of experience, I’ll go with executive experience over ‘legislative’ experience any day of the week.

Lack of qualifications? Oh geez, my sides hurt from laughing. The lefties voted the least qualified person for president in the history of the US and now they want to throw out that qualificiations thingy.

I've noticed that all through Sara's campaign. The left just doesn't realize how stupid some of their excuses really are.

I can only imagine there’s an out in her contract for if/when she declares and she has to step away from the paying microphone.

Wouldn’t happen of course, but I’m amused just by the idea of Fox slipping her into the WH press corps so she can ask Zero a question directly.

I wonder how much of it she’ll do from Alaska and how much from NY. Any word on that yet? Or when she starts?

Public exposure.

Pure hog vomit. She was picked for VP, which is the ultimate in public exposure. And if she was picked for VP, then she's good enough for President.

The press has and will continue to try and destroy her in her capacity now, and I think she could really build a strong backing in Congress first.

They have continued to attack her even though she holds no capacity in office.
What would she accomplish as a member of Congress? Virtually nothing.

Your reasoning is the same condescending BS tripe that's been heard over and over again.

Palin's critics have obviously never read her book or studied her record.

Being a Mayor of even Wasilla she was involved in bare-knuckle fights trying to pass her agenda. Then the Oil and Gas commission, and then Governor where she accomplished more in those 2.5 years than most Governors do in 2 terms.

It's this under-the-breath worrywarting that I really can't stand, when posters here make these comments about her needing to "brush up" and crap.
