I don’t think Reid should step down. His approval rating is what - 33%?

Naah! I’d much rather see him lose the election. The arrogant, evil little weasel deserves to be ridden out of Washington on a greased rail. Of course, he’s not the only one.

Shouldn’t they elect a professional racist like Robert Byrd or a real clown like Al Franken?

Oh no! Only Republicans need to resign over racial comments (perceived or real). Democrats have a God-given exemption from such concerns. They just have to apologize and all is right with the world!

Yep, if it keeps going, Reid won’t have to step down
he can just step OFF.

Steele is crazy. Let Reid twist in the wind...and lose his reelection. We push him out now, and a democrat with a clean record will replace him...and get reelected. And next time a Republican uses the word “black” instead of “honorable African American” and the Dims will do him in in revenge.

Honestly, how in the heck is using the (old fashioned, but always polite) word “negro” and talking about a dialect (which everyone knows does indeed still exist) peculiar to those of Americans of African ancestry, racist? This is silly.

Democrat & bigot Jim Moran says worse in a typical speech than that...

“honest injun” Steele would have been able to rise to the occasion but it seems he’s stepped in it too. He risk being a hypocrite now if he chose not to step down after Reid.

No.

Leave him where he is and let the Dems apologize for him at every turn until November.

I agree.

Liberals are the ones that made these words “dirty”.

My parents used the word “colored” and never meant it as a pejorative, but simply as an adjective.

Don’t play word games with the Democrats or they’ll change the rules on you half way through the game.

Let the voters have their say about this colossal moron ~ and about liberal hypocrisy ~ in November

No. He was right. Obama was the kind of black that white voters who feel guilty for being white could swoon to. We saw it all through the campaign.

I imagine though that Obama is trying to force Reid out, just like Bush forced Lott out, when in both cases, they said things that were innocuous.

The chilling effect that this will have will be substantial. God forbid you make a true statement. Everyone will jump on you. And truth be told, I’ve never liked Steele as Chairman and I’d like to see him replaced with someone who actually sees us winning back the House in 2010.

While I agree with your view..keep this sure loser in place for ad in points, I think in fairness he should be held to the same standard Trent Lott was as were others of the loyal opposition.
