I thought we already knew this, but CSMs story about it yesterday got a lot of play, so maybe we only thought we knew it. Or maybe we knew she was speaking but not necessarily keynoting.
Now it can be told: She is.
On its face, the gig would seem a step down for Ms. Palin, one of conservative Americas most popular and polarizing figures (not to mention major thorn in the side of the Obama White House).
But with an NBC/Wall Street Journal poll ranking a generic Tea Party as more popular than either Democrats or Republicans, and Palin herself rivaling the charming Mr. Obama in poll popularity, many experts see the Tea Party event as a potential milestone for a mounting, even transformational, force in US politics

Palin Tea Party Convention Confirmation PING!
oh, well, probably just a bunch of monochromatic white people will be there. /sarc
Convention ticket and banquet tickets are $360 each?!
Would love to go. 6 hr drive. But being unemployed.......I can’t print any money to cover my debt.
$600 is quite a bit of money for any venue.
Hey, check out the Ray Stevens video at the bottom of the page! That’s great! I never knew he was a Conservative.
How much is she being paid?
What ever the Tea Party Convention wants to, to have her be their first Key Note speaker for the grass roots, conservative, movement.
If she wants to start a revolution, it would be a simple thing. Just unveil a States’ Rights-version of the Contract With America.
“10 Things To Be Done To Restore The National Government of America To Order.”
Of course there will be considerable argument of what the 10 things should be, and I have my own ideas as well. But the important thing is that the American people see the list, a common sense list of what must be done to get our nation back to constitutional order.
And the list must make sense to them.
Then she must say that the Tea Party movement will support those candidates *of* *either* *party*, who sign on to that contract, that if elected they will work to clearly and honestly support those 10 things.
No need for a forked tongue. No voting against it before they vote for it. No wheeling and dealing for other stuff. No pork attachments.
This means that this contract is good for TWO elections. If they sign on and win, they have just TWO YEARS to bring about what they promise. If they succeed, they get reelected. If they fail, they join the unemployed.
And millions of copies of this States’ Right contract need to be sent to every State legislature in the country, and to any taxpayer who wants a copy. And any time a candidate signs on, the word should go out that they are the candidate to vote for.
Tea Party leaders? I don't remember any of these people being at any of the Tea Parties I attended. I think someone is trying to hijack the Tea Party movement.
Eff Allahpundit.
What a snotty comment. Doesn't take much to hear the contempt. Is it for Sarah or for the Tea Party? Probably both.
She has already made clear that she isn't for a third party. But I guess fomenting doubt about the issue keeps the readership interested.
From the website: Convention Only tickets CAN be offered only if the following conditions are met: A confirmed 2 night hotel room booking at Opryland with our group discounted rate. If the hotel booking requirement is not met it will result in the forfeiture of your convention ticket at registration with no refund available.
*** Ticket price does not include hotel accommodations. You can make reservations at the Opryland Hotel by clicking here (password is TEA10).
Well, from what I saw on website when I tried to make a room reservation, they have no more rooms available for convention attendees.
So you have to pay the $549 for both banquet and convention if you are staying elsewhere?
My daughter will be there. She is so excited. Sure I will get a great report.
I read on the Palination blog this was cancelled is that confirmed?
