President Obama: No more 'finger-pointing'
By: Josh Gerstein and Carol E. Lee January 5, 2010 03:30 AM EST
President Barack Obama will deliver a stern warning to his appointees at a meeting Tuesday afternoon that he wont tolerate efforts by the CIA, the State Department and others to shift blame for the recent intelligence foul-up to other parts of the government, said spokesman Robert Gibbs.
We are going to move beyond agency finger-pointing, Gibbs told reporters. The president will not find acceptable a response where everybody gets in a circle and points at someone else. The American people wont accept that.
Twenty of the nation's top security officials are gathering in the Situation Room to hear Obama demand answers about the intelligence failures that failed to prevent the attempted bombing of an airliner on Christmas Day.
The scheduled 90-minute session is Obamas first chance to go face to face with those responsible for securing the nation and offers him a big opportunity to set the tone and tempo for the governments response to the terror plot against Northwest Flight 253.
While Obama has ordered separate reviews of both the breakdown in intelligence analysis and the inability of the current screening system to detect the explosives the suspect, Umar Abdul Mutallab, allegedly brought on the plane, Gibbs made clear that the president sees the intelligence snafu as more serious.
Gibbs also said Obama shares the concerns of many Americans that reforms put in place after the Sept. 11 attacks were not adequate to head off the attempted Christmas bombing.

It strikes me as odd that this POTUS directs his version of “Baghdad Bob” tell us that he is more concerned about the finger pointing than he is about solving the problems. Me thinks he has his head up his arse. He will never know the proper solution because his questions are ass backwards!
Well the only thing I can say positive about this poser is he is consistent!
This has got to be a joke. If it is not it is the ballsiest statement I have ever read. This is not me using hyperbole, this is me saying this is the funniest, most pathetic thing I have ever read.
Did somebody say finger-pointing?
As long as no one points at " O Magnifico, the Wonderful"
LOL! Great job.
He wants no responsibility - but only accusation privileges, and so denies the right of any other to do as he has done.
His fellow Democrats understand how this works, too: Nancy Pelosi just today claimed (regarding the health care bill) that "there has never been a more open process for any piece of legislation". Consider the spectacular brazenness required to effect such a claim, when the opposition party was all but shut out of negotiations, while legislative language affecting every American citizen was crafted in closed-door sessions and then voted on after midnight on a holiday eve.
Now, consider the intention of people in positions of great power who act in such a manner. Nothing good can come of it.
Awesome pic!
Is he on his way back to Hawaii yet?
Its like a monkey with large ears, little experience, minimal understanding, telling a group of subject experts what to do. The folly of the jackass in the White hut grows more amusing every day.
Obama wont let anyone shift the blame, the whole time he is blaming George Bush.
This guy is a product of a dog with diarhea.
LOL - good one. Pelosi & Zero have never looked more natural.
>> “The president will not find acceptable a response where everybody gets in a circle and ...”
Condescending, vulgar, and unnecessary.
There is nothing easier than telling the guy you beat that he should forget the depths you plumbed to do so.
We remember when we asked them to unite for the country it was in the course of a shooting war with an enemy who would like to kill us all.
And they told us to stuff it.
