Is it acting if you play yourself?

“The Three Stooges can NEVER be recreated. I wish they would quit trying. The attempt a few years back with whats-his-name from The Commish as Curly was just awful.”
It will be very hard to recreate the Three Stooges successfully. Even the original stooges sometimes had a hard time pulling off their act, not all of their episodes were very good. But when they did get it right, it was comic genius. Larry was my favorite of the three, so I wish that someone I liked better would play that part. Nevertheless, as much as I dislike Sean Penn’s politics, I actually think he could be a good Larry, and he already has the right looks to play the part. He was really good as Jeff Spicoli in Fast Times at Ridgemont High, so I know he is capable of doing comedy.

Agree that I can’t see it either. I love the Stooges and now this miscreant dip-wad ruins it for me by playing one of them.

It's a bit strange seeing them shortly before they died.

I would have gone to see it but not now, not with Penn in it.

When did he ever *stop* playing a stooge?
Frowning takes 68 muscles.
Smiling takes 6.
Pulling this trigger takes 2.
I'm lazy.

“Have their been other feature films about the Three Stooges?”
There were some early ones done by the stooges themselves. They didn’t do so well. Their agent was crooked and they made very little money.
I think Mel Gibson tried to do one but it fell through.

Not features with the Stooges but about them and their career. I know Gibson produced a TV film about them.

I don’t know of a movie about them. I have seen a TV documentary about them.

There is probably 10 hours of REAL Stooges film available, why would anyone want to see a pathetic copy?

Shemp wasn’t that funny and Curly Joe was even worse.
