Digital News Report Besides collecting taxes and going after tax cheats, the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) will be going after Americans who do not purchase private health insurance.
The new health care legislation being debated in Congress will put the IRS in charge of making sure Americans purchase a health insurance policy. Those who dont pay will be penalized because all Americans will be forced to purchase a policy.
Besides making sure citizens do buy insurance, the IRS will assess penalties on those who do not. They will also collect new fees from businesses and oversee enforcement.
Already understaffed and overburdened, the IRS will need more agents. The CBO estimates that the extra cost would be $5 to $10 billion over the first 10 years. So far, neither bill in the House or the Senate includes any funding this.
bump.
Same thing in California. You can post a bond in lieu of car insurance.
I know the basic story, of course—but I thought that was BATF and FBI—don’t recall the IRS being involved. Were they?
***** You arent going to live forever and I might as well go down for a purpose. *****
I plan on living forever... so far so good.
I plan on having a better day than the IRS goon
"Conduct that has the effect of compelling another person to do what he need not otherwise do. It is a recognized defense to any act, such as a crime, Breach of Contract or Tort, all of which must be voluntary to create Liability [the sponsibility to uphold the agreement].
My jaw hit the floor when I heard this. Good grief!
A new obx to check on your 1040: “Do you have health insurance?”
If this actually passes and I worked for the IRS? I would be looking for other employment stat!
I think you missed a differentiation. Paying for auto insurance comes as a result of your driving, which is an activity you chose to participate in voluntarily. Paying for health insurance under this legislation comes as a result of living the USA. There's the difference.
Its about creating a new angle to extort more money from the dwindling producer class to feed into the Obama Hole. He needs it to finance his wealth redistribution and reparations programs for the moocher class.

“all the efficiency of the Post Office, all the compassion of the IRS.”
This is already happening at the state level in Massachusetts to support “Romneycare.”
“you were not mandated to purchase a car,
and if you want to drive it around on private property,
or just park it in your garage to rebuild it or as a collector,
you are not required to insure it”
In some states you are required to have the auto insured, drivable or not.
Which ones?
Missouri for one.

Dear Governor Perry,
On March 30, 2009 the Texas House of Representatives passed HCR 50 affirming that the State of Texas claims sovereignty under the Tenth Amendment.
You have publicly supported this bill, and stated that attorney generals from all over the union could be getting ready to sue the US Government.
We are asking you to take the lead.
We are asking you to order the Texas Attorney General to publicly begin working on a law suit under Article IV, Ninth, and Tenth Amendment of the Constitution.
We are asking you to protect the citizens of Texas that we will not stand for government controlled healthcare in our state.
Under your leadership we can effectively kill the proposal of this administration and allow Texas to be a state free from socialism and collectivism.
Be the voice of reason in the national debate and allow Texans the ability to solve the problems of our state.
Thank you,

Facts about the 10th Amendment:
The Tenth Amendment (Amendment X) of the United States Constitution, which is part of the Bill of Rights, was ratified on December 15, 1791. The Tenth Amendment restates the Constitutions principle of Federalism by providing that powers not granted to the national government nor prohibited to the states are reserved to the states or the people.

Affirming that the State of Texas claims sovereignty under the Tenth Amendment to the Constitution of the United States over all powers not otherwise enumerated and granted to the federal government by the U.S. Constitution, serving notice to the federal government to cease and desist certain mandates, and providing that certain federal legislation be prohibited or repealed.

REMEMBER THIS,TEXANS:
Feds Have Built Only 32 Miles of 700 Mile Double-Border Fence Originally Mandated by Congress
One reason DHS has been able to do this is an amendment that Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison (R.-Texas) slipped into an omnibus appropriations bill that Congress passed on December 18, 2007. Hutchisons amendment put a loophole in the fence law that allowed the secretary of Homeland Security not to build the fence Congress had mandated the year before.

IRS To Be Charged With Levying Fines Against Americans Without Health Insurance
(Please FRmail me to get on or off the Ping List.)
Hey, he’s just creating those jobs he promised.
I get so disgusted with the headings that are put on articles by jounalists. When I saw this I thought they were charging the IRS. It should read IRS PUT IN CHARGE OF LEAVING FINES.
