I work at JFK deicing planes for jetBlue.

Should be fun to hear what’s going on the next time I go in.

And yet, it is SO MUCH BETTER, than the old North Terminal, that I spent several cold nights in, watching the snow piling up in the hall, as it came under the doors.

PeopleXpress days

Ah, the days of paying in cash, on board, like, $ 29.00 for a flight. The North Terminal was awful.

I find Terminal C to be fine at Liberty. The hyperbolic paraboloid roof sections are nicely lit from the underside at night.

When built over thirty years ago, it was quite an architectural wonder.

Geez, now what? It's been one terrorist attack or threat a day since Christmas.

Reminds me of this little item I found (taken in an airport). Is this how Abdul Mutallab got on the plane with a bomb?

Such a disorganized mess at Newark

I flew into Chicago yesterday and into Newark two weeks ago. I will take Newark over Chicago any day of the week. Chicago is a disaster.

I didn't experience any increased security that I could see. TSA left a note in one of our bags that they had gone through it. It had some batteries and other unusual stuff because I was loaded down with needed items for my next six months of my sentence here in Stockholm. (:

TSA used to leave me those little notes, too (I haven't gotten any lately) when I was carrying art supplies.

Hopefully they are learning just how foolish it is to use the airlines while Obama is in office.

HAHA! I am from there too and don’t miss it at all. I had to laugh because I also refer to it as the “armpit of America”.
The worst part for me is the stretch from The Parkway Exit(Hess refineries begin) right on through to the Meadowlands(polluted swamp). It always smells like you are driving through the world’s largest kitty-litter box.
Just try closing the windows and shutting the vents...lol....there is no escape!

Enough of these incidents and airline travel will crash.

People will put off or cancel some trips, or drive or take a bus instead.

Many preople will use electronic/digital means to do most of what they would have traveled for.

Then those people will find out how much money and time and HASSLE they saved and how much SAFER they felt by not flying.

Yep, thats what the IRA did - lots and lots of hoax calls causing economic and personal misery.

BTW remember that many Dems funded them.

Maybe Newarks are like the flu? Cases cropping up all over the place?

Absolutely. It just isn’t worth the anxiety. Especially, with children. It is one thing to risk my own life but the life of my children is another matter entirely.

Totally agree. My last flight was July 1995, Detroit to Orange County, CA to visit family. My friends think I’m being “paranoid” by not flying anywhere. And I still get that lame theory from a few who insist that it’s safer to fly than drive a car. BS. At least in a car you have half a chance of surviving if something goes wrong. In a plane, kiss your butt goodbye.
