In his weekly radio address yesterday, President Barack Obama patted himself on the back for having "refocused the fight - bringing to a responsible end the war in Iraq, which had nothing to do with the 9/11 attacks".
He then told people to remember that "our adversaries are those who would attack our country, not our fellow Americans", before decrying "fear and cynicism" and "partisanship and division" - the code phrases for horrid Republicans used during his 2008 election campaign.
Complacency, faux moralising and partisan shots at Republicans. It was a neat summary of where Obama is going wrong after the Christmas Day debacle when the Nigerian knicker bomber managed to waltz onto a Detroit-bound flight.
For a man who campaigned denouncing the politicisation of national security under President George W Bush, it is worth noting how intensely political Obama's treatment of what might henceforth be known as Underpantsgate has been.
His White House recognised its political vulnerability more readily than it comprehended the level of danger faced by Americans...the White House was working overtime to build a case against Bush. A source in the White House counsel's office told The American Spectator of memos frantically seeking information that would "show that the Bush Administration had had far worse missteps than we ever could".

WTF?
word out of Yemen was that 25 more lonely bomber-trained yoots are just waiting for the call to join the brotherhood of the exploding pants
Hold your breath ..
Ya know, obama is sending a little shout-out warning to all the mobs of Christians and Jews descending on American muslims and burning their mosques and touching their korans and all that
That’s where the real danger to our country lies
sarc
I guess that is a dare to the US radicles to stand up and be counted..
Actually, 0 is right about the “not our fellow Americans” part.
So when will he quit trying to put the blame for his incompetence on the “fellow American” who preceded him in office?
Friggin' PC has to go...They may have missed the panty man plane but probably got lotsa satisfaction out of the CIA deaths.
Watch what the other hand is doing!!
Remember when George Bush was President and the adults were in charge?
For all of Obama’s work in the gym shaping his body, he knows that he HAS NEVER GROWN A “PAIR”!
WTF?
It's just another attack at the Bush administration. Everything he says has an ulterior meaning.
He is our advesary.
The only reason terrorism will be taken a bit more seriously now is because it poses a danger to the liberals’ agenda in Washington.
Obama vulnerable on terrorism? — Can’t imagine why (sarc)
Two good articles that explain it — both are great read and hit the nail on the head.

WTF?”
I wonder what subset or defined group Obama considers his “fellow Americans” to be?
Obama had already dug a deep hole for himself with his handling of Major Nidal Hasan and moving KSM to NYC.
Now panty-bomber flies into Obama-nation. All of this in two months.
Obama’s poll numbers should drop a couple points or more in the coming week once the full impact of the bungling by Obama and his staff become apparent to the US public.
Reminding me that the Democrats made political hay for twrnty years lying about Hoover.
To Zer0, the real enemies are Republicans and conservatives. Anything else is just a distraction.

Except for the very fact the terrorists tend to target locations with high density of humans that coincidentally are U.S. Citizens.
Another thing, I’ll often use “adversaries” when referring to our fellow Americans of the opposing political party. The term ‘adversary’ is a bit soft for describing those whom wish to kill us.

Good point. This would explain why Obama immediately reponds to Cheney comments but takes three days to respond to panty-bomber.
But what else should we expect from Barack Hussein Obama, America’s First Black Muslim President.
