The New Year's Eve massacre in Finland was described by police as a case of domestic violence, a bloody crime of passion.
And so it was:a middle-aged man rebuffed by his ex-girlfriend broke a restraining order, killed her, then shot four of her colleagues at a supermarket before, it seems, taking his own life.
But behind the horrific crime of an apparently deranged individual there was the deep-rooted problem of social exclusion. The clue is in the name of the suspected gunman: Ibrahim Shkupolli.
Finnish sources say he was a Pristina-born Kosovo Albanian, one of the many who have settled in Finland. And therein lies a story. Related Links Finland gunman found dead after killing five
The Finnish Government was quick to recognise Kosovo as an independent state and has been more ready to shelter Kosovo Albanians than many other states in Europe. Ordinary Finns are less enthusiastic about inviting in people who are largely perceived as economic refugees and the popular prejudice is that these foreigners lead a shadow existence.
One of the first, less charitable, responses to today's killings was to lament a human tragedy but to point out that this time at least it was not a Finn who had pulled the trigger.

Ping!
social exclusion?
Now everyone who can’t get a date has an excuse?
There was/is no excuse.
He was a cold-blooded killer.
Now he’s dead.

Now Finland has to use a similar creativity in dealing with immigrants and refugees: a significant number are suffering from untreated mental problems.
And what might be the nature of that "untreated" mental problem?
Life is quiet in Finland, too quiet. Lets invite some muslim "balkan gangs" to come in and set up camp. That should liven things up a bit.
The writer does all he can to figure out what the Finns might have done to deserve being slaughtered this way. That sounds to me like an untreated mental problem.
“That sounds to me like an untreated mental problem.”
It is. It’s called liberalism.
“Social exclusion” sounds like a hate crime waiting for a PR campaign.
I am glad he’s dead. Everyone is better off.
Aren’t Albanians Muslims/Islamics? I do believe most are and the rest are lying.
Ibrahim... sounds Amish.
Shucks. I’d rather not have known that. But thanks: knowing is better than not knowing, no matter how painful.
> a middle-aged man rebuffed by his ex-girlfriend broke a
> restraining order, killed her,
Imagine that.
Who would have thought that a violent batterer would violate a restraining order?
The only thing a restraining order can do is give the victim more legal leverage if they kill the jerk that violates the restraining order.
For some reason, they failed to mention that the shooter was not Finnish and most likely a perpetrator of the religion of peace.
Now that Finland has recognized Kosovo as a independent sovereign state they should be able to pack up and go home.
Too many people here still don’t get it...
In libland the criminal is the real victim and the victims are the criminals.
Sheesh!
I smell a muzzie.....they should all be deported back to the rat hole of a nation called Albania.
Something similar happened in the US a few years back -- the Albanian came to a restaurant looking for his girlfriend and shot her boss & others, then he died in a car chase. Can't recall the exact details.
Situations like this beg the question: How many people came to the US post-WWII after having seen "the real horrors of war" and with little or no help from the government, and how many shoot-outs like this did we have back then?"
This is from the RAS news org blog:
24 Hours after the shooting in Finland occurred, excuses came up again:
“Yet there is some degree of social responsibility and the Finns will have to face up to it. A study of the mental health of mass evacuated Kosovo Albanians, conducted by Goeran Roth of the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm, revealed serious psychological problems, including post-traumatic stress disorder and clinical depression, and a greater sense of displacement than other migrant communities. The study was conducted in Sweden but tallies with results from many societies that took in war-scarred Bosnians or Kosovars. “
What nobody reports, about Kosovo Albanians:
Below is a 24 hr period in Kosovo of the most significantly reported.
Most crimes that are not reported are inter family/neighbourly conflicts from, shooting, stealing, rapes, attempted rapes and physical assault.
The rural areas are where most crime is committed and not reported.
Example: Father/Uncle/Grandfather/Brother/Cousin attempt or sexually abuse juvenile family member and the daughter is usually found hanging in the barn or in hospital after drinking cleaning chemicals. In whole, a lost society...
