AMSTERDAM, Ohio -- Deputies found garbage wall to wall inside the Amsterdam home and now one parent is facing charges.
The 10-year-old girl and 6-year-old boy are in the care of a foster parent tonight and the father is facing a charge of child endangerment.
Sheriff Fred Abdalla said me he did not arrest the mother because she is pregnant with the couples third child.

but if the daddy has his daughter on his knee showing her hard-core porn, then there is nothing to be done.
what a weird place we have made.
Fred's family runs a great steak restaurant. He seems to be a decent sheriff in an area that is best described as Ohio's a**hole.
I think that’s his brother who runs the steakhouse. Yummy steaks. I ate there once. It’s an old-fashioned roadhouse.
“Worth a detour” as the Michelin guide reads.
Hope the kids had a good Christmas. Kudos to the sheriff.
Yep. On Route 7 in Stratton.
The one I watch today, they use shovels to clean up the place and took out 8 tons of crap.....rotting food, toilets black, with paths to walk throught the house....beds that had not been used it years because of the garbage on them....a real eye opener..
Now I admit that my place is cluttered. I'm not a neat freak. But slowly but surely things are being organized in my own home.
What frightens me about my neighbor is that we both live in a row of attached townhouses and (God forbid) she ever has a fire. The whole building will go up in flames.
It’s a little ironic that the reporter’s name is “Christy Clutter”.
There’s a website called Childrenofhoarders.com, or .org, I forget which, but it’s a support group for the offspring of these people. Often it’s the adult children who time after time try to get their parents’ places clean, only to have them re-stuff their houses.
I watch it on regular cable.
I posted a story a few weeks back about a woman in Connecticut, who lost her life in a fire because the firemen couldn’t get to her because of the “clutter”.

I worked in a house once, actually a trailer...it was the filthiest place I have ever been. Cat food, cat turds, cats, dog food, dog turds, dogs, clothes, garbage, rotting food on plates...etc etc.
So I do the job like everything is normal. As I finish, the woman says “well what about this item.” And I say...well I’m sorry ma’am, but it isn’t on my work order. And it wasn’t. I can only bring with me what my paperwork tells me to bring.
So she has the nerve to get an attitude with me. As if my service in her disgusting, disgusting house wasn’t up to her standards. So I got a little angry myself. And I told her that I was doing her a favor by even doing the job. And she goes...what do you mean? And I just laughed, and started pointing out things. I said that if I called my supervisors or OSHA they’d agree that this was about as hazardous a working condition as could be found in my line of work, that I was under no obligation to perform the work due to the condition of the house, but I had done it anyway, and that I would be glad to get a supervisor to come right over and settle things. For some reason she didn’t want the supervisor seeing her filth...lol. It was truly disgusting.
I watched that last night. It made me sick, especially when the found dead cats, yes, dead CATS under all the garbage. And I was getting worried about hoarding paper grocery bags (I had about 50). After watching one of those episodes, I threw all of them away!!!!
Raising 5 kids I too was a casual housecleaner, but these homes I do not understand but have know 2 people like this...Don’t understand it at all.....and sometimes you cannot tell by the person, you really have to go into their houses........
I have to chuckle at your post....I do the same thing, throw it out, My husband was polish so he could only tolerate so much kid clutter, but all my kids got their fathers polish gene and keep immaculate homes...well, 4 out of the 5. Not too bad a ratio...80% one is a casual housekeeper but definately not a hoarder...Its scary....I just can imagine the odor......The smell must travel to neighbors homes...
Just to follow up on the Hoarders discussion and to have a little joke with your name, did you see the one where the woman’s goats had eaten into her house??? Then they’d go in the room and drag stuff out to eat! Unbelievable!
I watch Hoarders every week. Man oh Manischewitz, it’s hard to imagine grown up living that way, much less forcing their kids to live in the filth with them.
LOL I missed the one with the goats, will have to keep an eye out for it on reruns.......thanks
