Not sure why they are drawing the sympathy strings today, given that he's back all the way up to -12, but if the -21 took about a week to get to them, perhaps they won't hear about the -12 until next week. Or, perhaps they fear today's -12 is headed back to -21 and below soon.

There is a cure for popularitis, but its strong medicine, and -21 would never go for it.
