Napolitano: "The system worked"
DHS Secretary Janet Napolitano said that the thwarting of the attempt to blow up the Amsterdam-Detroit flight this week demonstrated that "the system worked."
Asked by CNN's Candy Crowley on "State of the Union" how that could be possible when the young Nigerian who sought to set off the bomb was able to smuggle explosive liquid onto the flight, Napolitano responded: "We're asking the same questions."
Napolitano added that there was "no suggestion that [the bomber] was improperly screened."
That's assuming golf carts have desks. :)
.....The terrorists father WARNED US his son was a threat, specific information or not!
.....He was on a list of people to watch!
.....He had a ONE WAY TICKET!
.....He did NOT HAVE A PASSPORT!
.....He passed security with A BOMB ON HIS PERSON!
The entire system FAILED!
Where are the "random gate screeners" when you need them?
ok. The system worked on Christmas day. With the new restrictions the system will fail because it will be illegal for passengers to leave their seats.
Oh, but wait, she wasn't referring to the passengers, she was referring to the people on solid ground who only had to pick up a phone or whatever it is to alert other pilots. Cool.
My guess is, when all were alerted, then and only then was a call put through to obama. It took them either 90 mins or three hours to do this depending on which time frame one believes.
glad i could help
The proper tag would be /f for end flabbergastment! :-)
My first wife and I just expressed the same sentiment about RUSH being gone this week...
Rome had nothing on the U.S. right now.....
Does anyone have a link to the Israeli security guy who lampooned our terrorist precautions last week? I don’t remember where I read it...
AHA! You THINK he was Dutch.....There's more to them Dutchmen than just sticking their fingers in dykes......
i do not want a prize
just a conservative govenment, and, the smaller the better.
I told my just turned 16 year old son about this, and his immediate reply was, “She’s right, because the system is luck.”
I’m thinking he might be right. According to liberals, medical insurance and income, among other things, are based on “luck,” so why shouldn’t preventing terrorist attacks be based on it?
Having not read all of the posts on this thread...most likely this has already been mentioned,...if not, this was telling as well:
In the CNN interview with Napa valley tilino...Reporter asked her a question regarding how the “Suspects Father Told U.S. of Sons Extremism”
Napatilino stated: “We are not going to go there”...she must have thought she would incriminate herself publicly.
believe it!
Get a load of this. We are so screwed.
Glad to hear this news. :)
If the ordnance system had worked, 289 people would be dead. As far as I can tell, NO other system worked in this situation. TSA is nothing more than a sedative for the flying public and a government workfare system for those who couldn’t find any other job.
So even if she only meant the response system worked, she's not right. It wasn't a member of the crew that subdued this man, but a quick thinking heroic passenger.
If she wants the crew to be where the buck stops, sounds like the airlines need to hire burly men (or ladies) to be crew members. Since the Obama’s security response is the crew, they should all be given a test on ability to tackle and strong arm terrorists.
I can only believe he's reached such delusional heights, or depths, of fantasy that he would actually believe that Napolitano's remarks had some kind of credibility.
That's still possible, if all he reads is the New York Times.
This Obama wh**e needs a reality check.
