Napolitano: "The system worked"
DHS Secretary Janet Napolitano said that the thwarting of the attempt to blow up the Amsterdam-Detroit flight this week demonstrated that "the system worked."
Asked by CNN's Candy Crowley on "State of the Union" how that could be possible when the young Nigerian who sought to set off the bomb was able to smuggle explosive liquid onto the flight, Napolitano responded: "We're asking the same questions."
Napolitano added that there was "no suggestion that [the bomber] was improperly screened."
We have had “dumb”leaders before, but never this “dangerously dumb”.
This event needs to get her fired - the public must call Congress - and it needs to wound Obama’s and the rest of
his dangerous thugs.

The system worked. Tell me, has Napolitano’s head caved in yet?
stop it lol
“Napolitano: “The system worked””
No Janet, the bomb failed. BIG difference.
Failure is success ignorance is strength.
Someone sell JaNUT a clue.....The system didn’t work. A tourist on the flight accomplished the task with the help of other innocent people NOT the government.
You got that right. The Obama robots all use the same playbook----no matter what happens---THEY did the right thing.
Hope you don’t mind, but I emailed your post 106 to a dozen friends. Great summary!
Despite a possible tragedy, Napolitano said the response system worked as passengers and crew avoided panic and subdued the suspect while authorities notified other flights in the air and kept the air transport system operating.
Did anyone hear what was actually said? All of Napolitano’s other remarks are in quotes, but not this one.
Even if she said “RESPONSE SYSTEM WORKED”, she is splitting hairs.
She's saying the system worked because there was a hero on board and acted bravely on the flight and the terrorist is hauled off to jail. I don't think anyone doubted the terrorist would be hauled off to jail.
Here's what someone posted earlier in her interview with
Jake Tapper today.

TAPPER: Well, let me ask you a question about intelligence-sharing. When the suspects father went to the U.S. embassy in Nigeria and said, Im worried because my son is displaying extremist religious views, how was that information shared with other parts of the U.S. government, or did it just stay at that U.S. embassy?
TAPPER: But, Secretary Napolitano, you keep saying everybody acted the way they were supposed to. Clearly the passengers and the crew of that Northwest Airlines flight did. But I think there are questions about whether everybody in the U.S. government did.
A dose of Rush is needed just about now.
We are through the looking glass folks.....
.....Failing is now the goal.
***PINGING ALL FREEPERS***!
DING! DING! DING!
POST 106 IS A WINNER!
“Bush’s” “Mission Accomplished” was just a sign put up by some low or mid level sailors on the carrier. And technically, it was correct, THAT mission was accomplished, move on to the next mission. This was said by a full cabinet secretary!
Here's a continuation of the interview
Tapper:And here's a question for you, how many of — so many of us are subject to random security searches all the time, how come somebody who is not on a terrorist database isn't subject to more stringent security when they check in to a flight to the U.S.? Why does that automatically just happen?
NAPOLITANO: Well, if he had had specific information that would have put him on the selectee list or indeed on the no-fly list, he would not have actually gotten on a plane.
But those numbers pyramid down. And they need to, because again, there is lots of information that flies about this world on a lot of different people. And what we have to do in law enforcement is not only collect and share, but do it in the proper way.
Now once this incident occurred, everything went according to clockwork. Not only sharing throughout the air industry, but also sharing with state and local law enforcement, products were going out on Christmas Day, they went out yesterday, and also to the industry to make sure that the traveling public remains safe. .
And I would leave you with that message, the traveling public is safe. We have instituted some additional screening and security measures in light of this incident. But again, everybody reacted as they should, the system — once the incident occurred, the system worked.
Please refrain from posting further unauthorized photographs of Ms. Napolitano without warning us first.
Cheers!
Clearly, when it came to the "don't say something really, really stupid" circuitry in Nappy's brain, "the system" did not work. (Especially considering she said much the same on Meet the Press. What do you even call it when you're actually scripting your stupidity?!)
Of course, when the next step in "the system" is to read the enemy combatant his rights, let him lawyer up and eschew interrogation, it's kinda hard to single out any part of "the system" as working.
Right you are... the system failed and the passengers worked.
BINGO!
My wife and I have been noticing this since last night.
It's the old "Clinton Diversion Trick". Whenever Bubba got in a jam with a babe, another dead body, or a ripe scandal, some other breathlessly breaking story took it off the headlines and the Clinton Caper was quickly forgotten. A lot of these stories seemed like just-too-convenient-to-be-coincidence setups as they invariably happened at just the "right" time (for Bubba).
