Some of the funnies Freeper threads have come from a computer, booze, and a bored Freeper. But there is a limit... :-)
~lol~
And if this had been Bush — the media would have been screaming.
Right now — we are the only ones screaming.
Did the intelligence on this guy rise to the level of putting him on the no fly list?
Evidently not.
Yet the retrospective view is always perfect, right?
How many others are out there that may have some sort of links to terrorist groups but haven't done anything themselves to be put on the No Fly list...yet.
How much unproven suspicion qualifies one for the No Fly list?
How tight do you make the net?
How do you guarantee that nothing will ever happen?
How do you establish a system that works without fail, without criticism, and without second guessing?
Does this mean that we have to staff foreign airports with US staff? Would that even be possible?
At what point does the flying public refuse to fly and give terrorists that victory?
I've flown out of Lagos and out of Amsterdam and neither were lacking in technology or manpower.
How does one prevent the corruption that allowed him to board the plane?
How does one absolutely prevent everything yet preserve the public's ability to travel?
IMO we have a lot of freepers who want obama to micromanage things and that is just as scary his desire to micromanage things.
As I posted earlier, looping obama in early only results in slowing down the investigation.
There is a report out tonight that the State Department gave all counterterrorism agencies the heads up on Umar on November 20th, two days after his father notified the U.S. Embassy. The ball was in the court of those agencies and the buck stops there.
the det cord.
Now that I would think was the problem for the bomber.
IMO I think he never had the detonater set up right or connected as it should have been.
Course there would have to be more info released to know this but that’s a guess.
The amount he had would have brought down the plane and just on TV recently they showed what the amount would have done on the plane.
sounds to me AQ got an idiot at short notice or tyhe kid lost his nerve
Thanks. What was the content of the memo? Did the memo disqualify the guy from flying? What was State supposed to do according to the memo?
It seems he got on board with visa or passport, correct?
BINGO!!
That is exactly the point.
Simply put, I’m giving Obama the same amount of respect they gave Bush and holding Obama to the same “standard” they held Bush too.
So far, he’s not fit to clean Bush’s toilets.
Rex,c4 and semtex cold have done the job and the preferred method for terrorists from the IRA was to use semtex with a speed detector and them sit away using a radar gun to set off the detonator attached to the explosive I'm sure more details will come out soon about this but I heard it was well put together. course maybe not as we have no idea how those folks got into the white house for a party so God knows if any details will come out about this
Lotta girls have told me that.
EEK
LOL
they said they wouldn’t say anything
An earlier article on Drudge (seems to be replaced now) said he had about 80 gms in a six inch container. Another article speculated he used nitroglycerin to cause the reaction.
The original article on this thread stated that the device was incendiary rather than explosive and that would be consistent with PETN that was not tightly contained. It would certainly burn hot and very fast however.
How solid was this guy with AQ? Is it possible that he was a totally disposable asset and the whole point was to see if he could get something on board then anything after that was gravy?
The tv demo you spoke of...how did they package the PETN? If packaged right it is certainly capable of blowing a hole in an airplane. If not packaged correctly it would make a fire.
Would you suppose that AQ would test such a device especially before sending one up with a novice? Could they engineer a device to be fool proof it it made it on board?
Those two are cheaper and more readily available.
here’s my theory.
I think that AQ wants us to keep looking at planes and airports, you know the left hand is being watched but no one is watching the right hand.
I think another big attack is not going to be on planes where AQ wants us to be looking.
Course that’s my view.
How it was packed, primed set up on him is not what I know but like I said I think they got a sucker and they never trained him well enough.
They only have to be lucky once we have to be lucky all the time and they know that too well.
As for when it was on the TV , I suspect it was well packaged looking at the explosion.
I did hear about how they had used a condom and made the guy a human bomb and where it would really be hard to detect. Think they said it was used to kill a Saudi prince.
Now that was quite innovative.
they are but they have a marzipan smell which I suspect why it was not used .
Dogs would and should have easily picked up on them.
another question is where were the explosive sniffing dogs.
Many dogs are what customs use for drugs and they seem to sniff more baggage than people IMHO.
Something which needs to change.
If this guy got onboard without the proper paperwork it may not be a technological shortfall or systemic error of the type that the system can control.
Corruption and coercion make people turn their heads or take well timed breaks.
Our guy seems to be fringe of fringe. Disposable. Not one that they wanted to keep and develop. Son of a wealthy capitalist revolting against daddy.
Your theory of distraction could be right on.
Get everyone all hyped up on this while something else is going on.
Or...it could be that this guy was just a real pain in the butt and this was their way of getting rid of him and trying to get some other damage in the mean time LOL!
nope... didn’t have a passport... you really should actually read all the info on this case.
Just reported on Greta that when everyone was checked here in USA the dogs did alert... you might want to listen to her re-run first guest, was very interesting.
