they are but they have a marzipan smell which I suspect why it was not used .
Dogs would and should have easily picked up on them.
another question is where were the explosive sniffing dogs.
Many dogs are what customs use for drugs and they seem to sniff more baggage than people IMHO.
Something which needs to change.
Just reported on Greta that when everyone was checked here in USA the dogs did alert... you might want to listen to her re-run first guest, was very interesting.
