Nice to know that all the money McLame refused to use to fight Obama is now going to be turned against Hayworth.

Right.

New rules should be invoked:

1. FEC should have use it or lose it policy.

2. IRS should remove $1 contribution to FEC and replace with same donation to National Debt.

I sense some fear on the part of the Arizona Republic.

Can’t read the newspaper article - having trouble getting access to some news sites — anyone else having the same problem?

The irony here is that this is McCain-Palin money that will be used against Hayworth.

All those poor bastards who thought they were giving money to Palin...oh well!

He’s is not loved here, especially by Conservatives. Amnesty, McCain-Feingold, TARP. Unfortunately, JD does not come off as particularly bright.

I did not read the article, but

JD is still paying off a big debt, and I don’t remember if the debt is campaign related or legal.
But his chances of winning this time are iffy. He’s young enough, and smart enough to wait. This, surely, will be McCain’s last run, then JD will be out of dead and a sure win.
Hate it. Don’t like it. I despise McCain. Just don’t think JD can pull it off this time.

Wasn’t Hayworth defeated for his House seat?

Why does anyone think he can beat McCain? McCain has too much ‘old politics’ going and he knows plenty of dirty tricks.

I wouldn’t bet the farm on anyone defeating McCain for his Senate seat. Incumbents are just too hard to defeat, especially by someone in the same party.

[Disclaimer: I am not a McCain supporter. I wasn’t before he ran in 2008. I wasn’t when he got the nomination in 2008. I wasn’t after he lost the presidency in 2008.]

That should have been debt. I do not wish JD dead!
I agree with Hoosier-Dad. JD is not real great on the radio,
but I’m not seeing a good challenger to McCain, yet.

You never miss anything not being able to pull up a “People’s Republic” article. They have led attacks on two conservative governors and had them kicked out. Real scum.

“Unfortunately, JD does not come off as particularly bright.”

Maybe you’re just a little biased, or bigoted. I listen to JD’s radio show periodically just to see what he might be saying about this race. He comes across as very bright and insightful, far more so than the pious, self-righteous Juan McCain.

JD is from North Carolina and still has some of his native accent, which to me is a great thing. Your slur against JD definitely makes me wonder just how bright you are. Listen some time, weekdays 5:00 - 8:00 pm CST.

JD can pull it off. McCain is very much disliked by AZ Reps. In 2008, McCain was the only top tier candidate of either party who received less than 50% of the primary vote in his/her home state. McCain is old, a self-described maverick, and has been running on his resume since he entered politics. His stand on amnesty and cap and trade will hurt him big time in AZ.

And McCain may have to take a stand on amnesty fairly soon with the new amnesty bill proposed in the House. I attended the Rep Luis Gutierrez' press conference when the bill was announced. Gutierrez mentioned McCain favorably re the immigration reform bill at the press conference.

JD lost narrowly to Mitchell for a number of reasons. First, his district changed due to redistricting. Second, he was tarred by scandal allegations related to Abramoff and his wife's working on his campaign. Finally, 2006 was a bad year for Reps. It is interesting to not that Mitchell tried position himself to the right of JD on amnesty, believe it or not.

With the current anti-incumbent mood throughout the country, JD can win. I suspect that he will receive plenty of money from all over the country if he takes on McCain. We need to get rid of McCain who is still trying to be the face of the Rep party. I would rather see a Dem beat him than continue in office. He is trying to move the GOP to the Left.

FYI: I have a second home in Scottsdale. If JD runs, I may make it my primary residence so I can vote against McCain.

No amount of money would make me vote for InSain. JD wouldn’t need that much $$ if he has the Tea Party behind him.

Simcox has no chance. Who would you like to see run, or are you a McCain supporter?

But did you even read the article. Are you at all informed on this issue? A November 20th Rasmussin poll showed JD and McCain in a statistical dead heat, that's just on speculation that JD might run.

This is an odd thread, with all of you trying to talk down JD's chances. Previous threads have been very positive about JD and his chances.

And polls also show Sheriff Joe with a large lead over all comers in potential governors races. Attitudes in Arizona might be changing significantly.

I listen to him as well. He comes off as a blo. I am neither bigoted or biased, IMHO. I can’t stand McCain.
