With taxes set to skyrocket, Obama must not even intend to run for reelection
December 23, 2009 | E. Pluribus Unum

By the time 2012 rolls around, the Obamacare taxes are going to be grinding on people so badly that there will be a revolt at the ballot box.

The only possible explanation for this is that Obama knows he can't run for a second term anyway, because of the birth certificate issue, and is merely trying to do as much damage as he can as quickly as possible.

Can anyone think of any other explanation?

Dont sell him short. I dont think anyone expected him to beat Hillary out..nor win the election, when he first showed his ugly face.

I worry..that as many people as we see say he’s wont win..that he just might. Lets not forget that we surround ourselves with obozo haters...here, at other forums, etc. But, there are still people out there..who would vote for him again (Lord only knows, why.)

I honestly believe that THEY believe they have the elections in the bag.

With all the ‘payoff’ money from the ‘stimulus’ bill, they’re sure that they have the machine in perfect order to guarantee further elections.

“I’ll still show up to vote in 2010, but I think the process is hopelessly tainted. We’ve lost the country, and the political elite will choose who our leaders are. We the people are not part of that process any more.

Armed rebellion will be required. It’s politics by other means.”

My thoughts EXACTLY. This is what it’s come to folks. This, or watch our whole nation become Detroit in a VERY short time.

Democrats and Communists (but I repeat myself) are typically not smart enough to understand that actions have consequences. Many of them foolishly think that the "government" can simply proclaim that things must be done, and that therefore those things will be done, without any reactions or side effects. This is but one of the predictable consequences of leftists' successful long-term dumbing-down of the public education system.

We have seen too many examples of this to ignore it. The subprime mortgage meltdown is one of them - they thought that they could simply decree that people who could not afford to purchase a house should still be able to purchase a house, with the full faith and credit of Fannie Mae to back it up - and of course the resulting collapse damaged or destroyed the financial futures of millions upon millions of people who previously could earn a living and afford a house.

The decree that health insurance companies may not exclude pre-existing conditions is another - they are blind to the fact that such a course of action will inevitably destroy the real-world actuarial basis upon which the insurance industry is founded and will lead to ruinous increases in premiums for everybody, along with waste, fraud, and abuse, benefitting few but damaging millions upon millions of people.

They foolishly believe that by dictating terms to credit card companies, it will "benefit" consumers, when the reality is that it has had the opposite effect as credit card rates have gone sky high and access to credit has been severely curtailed. They congratulate themselves on how they have helped the vulnerable and the "poor", when the truth is that they have caused untold damage and destruction and hardship.

And on and on and on.

Of course, not all of the Commies are that foolish - many of them understand exactly what they are doing, in a malicious attempt to destroy America. I have often wondered whether Obama is merely stupid or whether he is truly evil - my conclusion is that he is both.

Get us out of the way and a one world government becomes much more attainable.

The next big hurtle will be China. They have their own brand of political correctness and to hell with the UN’s globalism, and control from Brussels.

He’s not going to run. He’s going to declare “Martial Law” and suspend elections. Things are going so badly right now for the Democrats that he may even suspend elections in 2010. They’ll make up an excuse and their House and Senate majorities will back him up.

I know the above sounds like a conspiracy theory but I really believe it could actually happen. There are enough nuts in this country that he/they could actually get away with it.

I can only pray I’m wrong.

Khrushchev said communism will bury the US, and I think it's starting to look like he was right.

I'd love to see a talented FReeper conjure up a photo of Obama at the podium, with Ried and Pelosi behind him, looking out at the American people, pounding his shoe on the podium and yelling "we will bury you".

It is not about Obama.

Just like when the wahabbist’s lose one suicide bomber;
there are plenty more in the wings to take his place.
They celebrate the bravery of the bomber who
they believe has given his life to advance their cause.

The puppet masters have plenty of puppets;
and they are willing to sacrifice this one.

Who says the Tsar of the Teleprompter even intends to have elections?

My sentiments exactly! I think he is working hard to bring the system down. Then he HAS to take over, and viola...socialism (since we will all have nothing). Just an idea.

Obama believes the public has a very short attention span. Once he passes Obamacare, the spin machine will go into full operation for the next three years. Obamacare will be declared a success by Obama and the MSM. Obama will then become a fiscal conservative decrying the national debt, government spending, etc. He will levy higher taxes on the rich and institute other stealth taxes to increase revenue.

And Obama has established the most powerful and wide reaching political organization in American history. He can reach nearly 15 million of his supporters thru his Blackberry. Obama will raise huge amounts of money again.

Three years is a long, long time. Let's focus on the 2010 midterms. The results will give us an idea of how energized and motivated our base is. Don't underestimate the power of the Obama propaganda machine including the MSM. Obama will run in 2012. Count on it.

Alternative 1: He knows the Democrats will lose Congress in 2010 and he intends to run against a Republican Congress a la Clinton. In other words, he believes (not without justification) that the American Public has a memory of something less than 18 months.

Get all the goodies now, talk like a deficit hawk later - Clinton 101.

Alternative 2: He really believes - like Gorby in the old USSR - that Socialism works. He thinks that more government spending and intrusion into our daily lives will make people so happy that they will fight each other for the chance to vote for him. Just like Gorby preserved the USSR for posterity by proving to the world that, given a choice, the people would choose Socialism.

Uh . . . wait a minute. I have a feeling there may be a flaw in that idea somewhere.

Alternative 3: Obama is from Chicago and knows that whoever is in power WILL be reelected. Millions of voters will come from cemeteries to ensure it.

Are you kidding? By then he’ll have 40 million new Mexican—er, “American”—voters with ACORN counting and the Black Panthers providing nationwide polling place security. He’ll probably win bigger than in 2008.

By the time 2012 rolls around we will have amnesty for illegals and 30mil. new liberal new voters.
Motor Voter and lax voter verification will see to an assured dem victory.
Plus the all the downturn in healthcare, long lines, waits, Dr.s saying ‘he!! with it I quit’, lack of equipment upgrades, and on and on.
That won’t kick in until after the second term starts.

Amen to that! The “Mortgage Meltdown” was not a result of the excesses of Capitalism, but of bad government policy by both parties. There were sound economic reasons why many people did not own homes. Government lured them into buying when they shouldn’t have or buying much more house than was reasonable. Now those people are paying the price.

Obama and the Democrats have wailed and whined about how Capitalism was the cause of the “Crisis.” The Republicans don’t have the guts to stand up and defend Capitalism. That may be a huge part of the reason that Obama thinks he can get away with raising taxes and getting reelected. The opposition does not have the guts to stand up for their own ideals. If we put up another moderate Obama may well win again, and the Republicans may well desereve to lose again.

Wrong. He will win big.

The tax revolt and health care revolt will be offset by a huge Hispanic vote for the Rats. He is going to push through immigration "reform" and further marginalize conservatives. Also, the military vote will be suppressed and vote fraud will not be stopped.

The destruction of the private economy will be blamed on private business not taxes and the media will support new govt oversight.

I don’t think a couple of Black Panthers is really going to stop anyone from voting in 2012. It wouldn’t bother me and most districts would have them removed pretty quickly.

There's a possibility he might think of retiring to Indonesia. It's not unlikely that a number of entities that stand to benefit from what he's pushing are shoving lots of cash into offshore accounts for him.

Why bother fighting the US, when for the price of a few F-15s you can buy the President?
