Movie star Brittany Murphy is dead of a heart attack at 32.
She went into full cardiac arrest early Sunday and could not be revived, the Website TMZ reported.
The Los Angeles City Fire Department got a call from the home of Murphy's husband Simon Monjack about 8 a.m., fire officials told TMZ.
She was taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead on arrival
Murphy starred in "8 Mile," and "Don't Say a Word."
The starlet became a household name among teens in 1995 as the sidekick in "Clueless," who went from awkward wall flower to snotty hottie.
A few years ago, she released the single "Faster Kill Pussycat," which became a dance club hit.
Her last big movie was "Sin City" in 2005
Honestly, my first thought was she must have been anorexic. I'd seen her in movies several years ago, and she was heavier than in that picture at the top of the thread. She was never fat, nor was she even zoftig, she was just a little plumper and much healthier looking before.
My second thought was about the singer, Karen Carpenter, who it turned out was anorexic, and she did literally starve herself to the point that her heart gave out on her and she died when she was in her 30's, as well.
Anorexia at least, bulimia at worst...
She was cute and kind of quirky.Enjoyed Uptown Girls.Sad-she was so young.
Wow - sad to hear this about any 32 year old - but I have no idea who this person is - do not even know the name - but it looks like she had a big career.
*snort* I know what you mean!
Money may not buy happiness but it can sure make the down payment.
Just now, I was thinking about the late Shelley Winters. She was large size; yet she had some great character roles throughout her career. Unfortunately, someone with her body today would have difficulty finding work. There is enormous pressure on the women to conform to some societal rules about what they should look like.
I’m overweight; lost about 80 pounds and have 40 more to go. Yet, I won’t look anything like that when I make my goal and I really don’t care. It’s high time people take a stand against such nonsense. After all, aren’t we women supposed to be liberated?
I was wondering that also..She is painfully thin in this picture
I’d ask what it was you said at #19 that got zotted but I wouldn’t want you to risk getting banned, but we can conclude that Britney is ‘ready for Freddy’ now, right? ;)
[older Freepers will remember that episode from the legendary comic strip ‘Lil Abner’, lol]
“What is it with Hollywood and the demand for women to starve themselves to death?”
I don’t know-it’s just plain craziness, but it wasn’t always so. Mae West, for example would be considered rather chunky by today’s standards. I think the queers like the androgynous look, and Hollywood is infested with ‘em.
I see. You just want to argue for the sake of it. Have at it.
Weird accent. Then I also watched the Letterman clip from 08 and she didn’t have any British accent back then.
She doesn’t seem particularly anorexic OR druggy in those clips.
She would have been 60 next March.
Good, I’d asked the mods to remove it (not that I was the only one, I’m sure).
OK, in THAT interview she looks a bubble or two off plumb. (Not cokey — maybe oxy?) How sad: “Can I have your hair in my next life?” Just 19 days before her next life began. :(
Hey.... ;-)
Are you the one who has done the autopsy? Hbve you seen the autopsy report? Did you get a copy of the toxicology results already?
Just trying to figure out how you and others really know the cause of her death.
I’m not saying anyone is wrong, but I’d rather wait before making assumptions.
That’s why they say the fashion world is the way it is...
she was great in “Girl, Interrupted”.
Always sad when they are so young.
