Movie star Brittany Murphy is dead of a heart attack at 32.

She went into full cardiac arrest early Sunday and could not be revived, the Website TMZ reported.

The Los Angeles City Fire Department got a call from the home of Murphy's husband Simon Monjack about 8 a.m., fire officials told TMZ.

She was taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead on arrival

Murphy starred in "8 Mile," and "Don't Say a Word."

The starlet became a household name among teens in 1995 as the sidekick in "Clueless," who went from awkward wall flower to snotty hottie.

A few years ago, she released the single "Faster Kill Pussycat," which became a dance club hit.

Her last big movie was "Sin City" in 2005

I am sorry to hear of her death.

My wife and I enjoyed a number of her roles. It was a shock out of the blue to hear of this.

It’s too early to tell what actually took place. I hope she didn’t cut her own life short by doing things she shouldn’t have.

32 is too young. She had so many years ahead of her. I am saddened that I won’t see her in more roles.

Damn! If that's a recent photo, I wonder if it was due to complications brought on by an eating disorder.

An old report, but:

"I've been on two USO tours already. One was in the States and another was in Iraq, and I can't say where we are going if I go." As for her experience with the nonprofit organization, which aims to boost the morale of U.S. troops, Murphy says, "I will always be involved in the USO. Once you go over it's a part of you forever. It's nice being a friendly face from home."

In fact, she has a personal connection to the USO: "I come from a military family – the Marine Corps," she says. "I have a bunch of family members in the Marines."

They are both blessed to not have to live any more and spew CO2 into the atmoshpere and contribute to the destruction of our planet. /s

TMZ Comment Post #9 of 276:

9. Ok...first to say it....EATING DISORDER!!! She always denied it, but a super skinny 32 year old doesn’t die from a heart attack
unless it is drugs or anorexia.

She was Eminem’s girlfriend in 8 Mile. She came to visit him at the factory where he worked and they had sex in full daylight on the rebars or something.

“We'll learn shortly what the real cause of death was, and it wasn't heart disease.”

***

You can't be really sure about heart disease. She could well have had a heart defect that was never detected.

Did you know that more women than men die from heart disease? It's the number one killer of women (not breast cancer or AIDS). Part of the reason is that women are often lulled into believing that they are immune to heart disease. Doctors said for years that women were immune to heart attacks because of their hormonal makeup. Well, that's not true. However, many women still believe this karp and the result is, that when they have symptoms, they usually ignore them. What's more, fewer women than men experience the proverbial elephant-sitting-on-the-chest pain of heart attack. When I had my cardiac arrest, I had no pain. My only symptom was shortness of breath, which I ignored until it was almost too late.

And you don't have to be 40 or 50 or more to have a heart attack or sustain a cardiac arrest. Heart attacks can happen at any time, at any age.

Now, all this speculation of anorexia and/or drugs — those theories are possible. But before we get our exercise jumping to conclusions, I would rather wait for the autopsy or further developments.

I’m shocked as well. I enjoyed her acting. I still love Clueless and her role in Riding in Cars with Boys (?). The scene on the street where she is pretending to be Drew’s mother is priceless. It’s sad that those who seemingly have it all, really have nothing at all. I will pray for those that loved her.

Very sad. Her awkward pose in the top photo appears to be an attempt to conceal the fact that she had attained the weight and therefore shape of an adolescent boy. Had she not arched her back, it would have been more apparent that she was was straight or vertical on all sides, without bust or hips, and that her head would appear disproportionately large compared with her body. I don’t know the cause of her death but hints of drug use, ‘difficult behavior’ and anorexia hint at a painful, difficult life. I feel sorry for anyone in that situation and now her family must face Christmas without her.

::sigh::

I liked her in her roles. From the first time I saw her in Clueless. Unfortunately I can’t say I’m shocked. Her choices weren’t unknown and even if they had been just a photo could show the damage she had caused herself. We’re of the same age. It’s just sad.

She was an end-stage crack addict whose heart gave out.

Looks like she got a lot of work. The work she did that I’m most familiar with is as the voice of Luanne on King of the Hill. Whatever the cause, I’m sorry to hear that she’s gone. Sad.
