Gutierrez bill would give millions citizenship (Obama waiting on Graham-Schumer "bipartisanship")

WASHINGTON -- Rep. Luis Gutierrez, a leading congressional advocate for immigrants' rights, has introduced a bill that would allow millions of illegal immigrants to become U.S. citizens and would end a controversial program that enlists local police to enforce immigration laws.

The bill is widely viewed as too liberal to pass.

Obama administration officials have said they are looking instead to a more moderate, bipartisan immigration-reform bill to be introduced in the Senate early next year by Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) and Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.).

Still, the Chicago Democrat made it clear that he and his allies expect a seat at the negotiating table as lawmakers and the White House seek middle ground on the polarizing issue.

That would be Lindsey Graham (D-S.C.) Just setting the record straight.

I'll bet 'the Maverick' is chomping at the bit at this. Why he coulda been one of the people to introduce this, if only he weren't up for re-election.

McCain now, Graham in due time...

The census will also play into this, they will set it up to count as many illegals as possible so Ca has even more representation in government.

They will put in some kind of exemption so they don’t have to count immigrants.

This is a Christmas present for the Unions.

More members=more dues=more money=more voters=more power.

It has to be soon or it won’t pass after the election. They should be forced to score the Health Bill including the 20 million illegals they will add.

You are a dastardly pessimist! But.. you are also right on the money. People should accustom themselves to always being cold, having runny noses, smelling like rats (rationing hot water) and fixing their own teeth with screw drivers. Of course, they will allow us to watch the gods on Mount Olympus (the stars) screw beautiful people, eat caviar, and jet all over the communist world. Hey.. I’m not to bad being a pessimist either! I’ll see your pessimistic post, and raise you a few notches!

Amnesty for illkegals would have the following consequences:

1. Bankrupting states and the federal government

2. The unemployment figures would skyrocket

3. Illegals would get preference for jobs over citizens because they work for less money

4. High paying Union jobs would be at risk

5. America further turning into the 3rd world country that it is headed for

6. Increasing debt

7. More illegals coming in hopes to get future amnesty

8. Unsafe borders get even more so

9. Criminal activity rises sharply

10. Innocent Americans killed

11. Gang acitivity increases

12. Drug crimes rise markedly

“Graham and Shumer. There’s two I’d like to see go hunting with VP Cheney.”

I’d buy a ticket to see that! Take McCain along.

for some reason.

Because it's more power for them, too. The RNC is trending ever further to the left in spite of its rhetoric (and its junk mail "surveys" that I throw in the trash every week). Once DeathCare and amnesty are in place, we're screwed, and they know it.

In a sign of the perverse coalitions fostered by liberal groups, most of the labor union bosses are in favor of the amnesty.

Graham-nesty needs to be recalled or removed by the people of SC if possible.

We will have to fight hard against it as well. I think we can win this one when we have 17% unemployment.

...then each and every person will live a colder, darker and less productive life...

I see that happening anyway.

Unless we have our own Tienanmen square the U.S. is done.

Nah, mostly because employers would be branded racists if they didn't.

[[The bill is widely viewed as too liberal to pass.]]

And cap-n-tax and the healthcare bills weren’t ‘too liberal to pass’? Bribes will get it passed

We might as well have a Con-Con at the rate this thing is going. All the rats are acting like its a re-write of the Constitution since they obviously don’t care that his bill has in it so long as their corrupt asses are getting a hand out.

“they will set it up to count as many illegals as possible...”

If you have proof of this, go to your state attorney general and demand that he arrest the census takers. We need everyone doing all they can to destroy ACORN and La Raza.

a leading congressional advocate for immigrants' rights

Invasion of the United States is not a human right.

a controversial program that enlists local police to enforce immigration laws

What's controversial about cops enforcing federal laws? They're supposed to. Prior to about 1990, cops all over the country - except maybe California - routinely apprehended illegal aliens and turned them over to what was then INS.

Gutierrez is a classic Spaniard thug and colonizer. He wants to legitimize his invading force, prevent their expulsion, and then use them to seize power and wealth over the hated Gringos.

The man shouldn't be in Congress, he should be up before a military tribunal as an enemy combatant.
