Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Chris Henry died Thursday morning after he was seriously hurt during what police are calling a "domestic situation" in Charlotte, North Carolina on Wednesday.
The team's receiver fell out of the back of a pickup truck Wednesday during what police described as a domestic dispute with his fiancee. Henry was found in the road about eight miles north of downtown Charlotte "apparently suffering life-threatening injuries," according to Charlotte-Mecklenburg police. Police spokesman Robert Fey said officers were stationed near the 26-year-old Henry's hospital room.

RIP Chris Henry.
Charlotte seems to have a history of Athletes involved in
tragedy.
Charlotte Hornet Bobby Phils died about 10 years ago in Charlotte in a car crash while drag racing.
Panther Fred Lane was gunned down by his wife about ten years ago.
Rae Carruth had his wife shot because he did not want to pay child support.
I doubt she even gets charged. Unless there are witnesses showing she drove in a manner to intentionally throw him from the bed of the pickup, she could argue she didn’t even know he was back there.
Even if she did swerve back and forth or stop short, she could argue that she felt threatened by him and it was in self defense. It is not a big stretch to claim you perceived a boyfriend, with a checkered pass, who following a domestic dipute, chased down your pickup and jumped into the bed, while it was moving, to be a threat.
LeBron James is the father of two children.
The culture is being driven into the ditch by people who idolize those with a lack of character.
Dan Quayle was right.
Marriage, or something, yeah possible.
When my son was born, my roommate was 19 and the grandmother was 36!
How sad. Prayers for the family, especially the kids. They are the ones who are going to suffer the most from this tragedy.
Sad ping :(
Stupidity isn't against the law, I'd imagine.
“On another note, when a chicks mad at you, and shes driving, jumping into the back of the pickup is a bad idea. Run the other way.”
It just seems to me that African American women are particularly violent.
And while we’re at it....let’s pray that Tiger keeps his cell phone to himself.
There is redemption for everyone. This is a sad tale of tragic loss. Hopefully, a wake up call for others.
"Your honor, ladies and gentlemen of the jury, my client, a mother of young children, was in fear for her life and when she attempted to flee a brutal and unprovoked assault from the man she thought loved her and his children, her assailant, a powerful athelete bolted into the bed of the only conveyance available to her, a pick up truck. She had no recourse but to continue to flee and when the assailant attempted to enter the cab of the moving truck he lost his grip and fell on to road, being fatally injured in the fall. My client, the mother of small children, could not be sure if he had fallen from the truck or was crouching in the bed, ready to bounce if given the opportunity. My client did not, therefore, stop to investigate but continued to seek assissant to help her cope with her assailant."
I interpreted the wise crack to be about Tiger, not Henry.
I know - it is almost impossible to find an NFL player who isn’t a baby daddy - and race isn’t the issue, ask Tom Brady.
Dude didn't jump in the back for a ride to the 7-11. It seems likely he was pissed and trying to get into the cab. He could probably kick the back window out pretty easily. If so, under those circumstances I could easily understand self-defense.
RIP Chris Henry. a troubled young man who is gone way too soon.
One has to wonder though, will we now be treated with a full expose of Chris’ life with unending articles about possible mistresses or links to docs that might have links to someone that mught have links to PED’s????
May God rest his soul.
I agree with you. She was clearly attempting to "retreat," or get away from him. He showed aggressive intent to possibly do harm when he jumped into the bed of the pickup.
Way back, when my grandparents married that wasn’t so uncommon - but today it seems so strange. I have a good friend who is a NICU nurse in Houston who says she gets 12 year olds having babies quite often.
“I realize hes 26 and in some neighborhoods he could be getting close to being a grandfather, but that seems young to me to have three children.”
In the ‘hood, even if you’re a monogomous couple, (yeah, right), you start at 15, technically, they could have 10 kids by now.
