Police: Wheelchair-Bound Man Shoots Intruder

SILVER SPRINGS SHORES, Fla. -- Officials with the Marion County Sheriff's Office said a Silver Springs Shores man shot and killed one of two masked men who tried to break into his home.
Authorities said Gary Wrodlewski, 62, who is wheelchair-bound, answered his door at about 10 p.m. on Monday.
A man outside the door asked for assistance in jumping his car, but investigators said Wrodlewski declined. That's when officials said a second armed and masked man came to the door.
Investigators said Wrodlewski pulled out his own gun, which is a Colt .45-caliber, and opened fire.
Deputies said one of the assailants was struck, and the second man fled.
