WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. -- A teen who pleaded guilty to gang raping a South Florida woman and beating her young son has been sentenced to 30 years in prison.
Seventeen-year-old Avion Lawson pleaded guilty in August and testified against three other suspects in the 2007 attack. The others have all received life in prison.
Lawson, who was sentenced Monday, had faced a maximum 11 life sentences plus 50 years.
Lawson and the three other defendants were all teenagers when police say they barged into a 35-year-old woman's apartment, raped her repeatedly, beat her 12-year-old son and then forced her to perform oral sex on the boy.
The victims were doused in chemicals to clean the crime scene, and police say their attackers discussed setting them on fire before fleeing.

Not a hate crime, however, wrong paint jobs for the victims.

I certainly hope the purpose of the article isn’t to suggest that the sentence is an inappropriate one. Were it left to my judicial decision, the convicted perpetrator would not still be breathing.

sentenced to 30 years in prison. Probably out in 5 to rape somebody else.
Maybe kill someone next time, too.
Until then, our tax dollars can feed him.

Liberals see this in a different light. They see “teenager” and “30 years” and think “how horrible.” If liberals had their way, the maximum sentence for any crime would be 15 years. (Except for conservatives falsely accused of “hate crimes.”)

They apparently were clean-cut and from the Carribbean, clearly “immigrants” which make them a protected class, right?

I'll second that. This was so horrible I never forgot it. There was a question as to whether the boy would be able to recover, since they put chemical cleanser in his eyes, or get past the mental scars from behind forced to engage in a sexual activity with his mom.
I hope these P's-O-S get a taste of their own medicine behind bars. Evil, evil, evil is thy name!
Renewed prayers for the mother and son.

Aye, they both did, however, I imagine both are pretty scarred, if not physically, then emotionally.

Oh that was a heartbreaking incident.
The perps need to be put out of society’s misery.
30 years is not enough.
