I don’t travel in liberal circles much, so last night was a real eye-opener as to how much this country is in deep doo-doo.

I went to my brother’s house (Marin County, CA) for our family’s annual Dungeness crab feast. It’s no secret in my family that my political position is hard starboard at flank speed, so out of deference to the occasion I made a personal vow not to steer the conversation to current events.

Alas, my best intentions were scuttled by my brother’s neighbor lady let slip a snarky comment about Sarah Palin not believing in global warming.

Without going into detail, your story hit close to home. A few of us out here have family that are embarrassingly liberal, and any political discussion goes essentially nowhere.

I seldom argue with such brainless types. As Jefferson said: "It is as useless to argue with those who have renounced the use of reason as to administer medication to the dead".

Liberals do not read up on anything. I actually voted democrat through 1992. Yes, I voted for B.J. Clinton! By 1994, I was a proud voter for the Contact with America, and I was subscribing to National Review and Weekly Standard and listening to Rush.

I can say that in my liberal days, I was uninformed, and got my "news" from op-ed pieces and NPR. I have read tons of stuff since becoming a republican/conservative. I can say from experience that liberals only have a vague "feeling" about things, much like the brainless lady you described.

Lefties and brain dead old style democrats don’t pay attention to the news. The only news they see is the alphabet channels or what they read in trash magazines and the Comedy Channel.

They stay away from current events regarding what actually is going on politically because much of it may disrupt their indoctrination programming.

And yes, we are in deep doo doo. They won’t get it until the lefties leave them totally impoverished, dead, and bereft of any freedom. Then it will be too late.

Even worse than that, we KNOW that liberals like her are uninformed idiot sheep, but when Republicans rag on Sarah, that is what really gets to me. When they hint that she is not smart enough or experienced enough to be president, I think of what we have now. She was a mayor and moved on up to Governor of a state. The ONE was a “community organizer” what ever that is, never run a payroll or had employees, never held office but for a very short stint as a very Jr. Senator, but he speaks well. Yes folks, any Republican that speaks out against Sarah is dead meat as far as I'm concerned.

I once had a conversation with a public school teacher from back east. He was earnestly explaining how he teaches Revisionist History, as in explaining European exploitation of North American Indians to his young class.

I asked him when he was planning on moving back to Europe. He asked me what was I talking about, I then told him if he still felt guilty about something why the heck didn’t he do something constructive like move back to Europe. He shut up and didn’t bother wasting any more of my time. Ignoramus teaches kids somewhere. Go figure.
