TIGER Woods rocked the world of sport yesterday by announcing he was giving up golf indefinitely in an attempt to save his marriage.
Just hours after one of his 12 mistresses appeared on US breakfast television revealing intimate details of their affair, Woods admitted for the first time he had been unfaithful to his wife and said he was putting his career on hold.
"After much soul searching, I have decided to take an indefinite break from professional golf. I need to focus my attention on being a better husband, father and person," Woods said in a statement on his website.
The shock decision has major ramifications for golf. Woods dominates the sport and is responsible for a large part of the corporate sponsorship that underpins the PGA tour's burgeoning prizemoney pool.

His wife is going to cost him millions and he might not ever "sleep" with her again.
Tiger is now a Cheetah.
I like to think of the mischief I could get up to if I had $500 Million.
But clearly...if the reports are true...he does have a problem.
While he spends wildly on 'escorts,' Mr. Cheater & Cheapskate begs for free meals from restaurants.
The Cheetah DOESN’T TIP either!!! What a Low Class CHEATING PIG!! Not tipping working stiffs says a lot about a person!
Quite the stimulus program...
I don't know if I believe this from what I've been hearing he is to cheap . I saw an Interview with one of his "girlfriends" and she said they broke up after a year and a half when she asked him for some monetary help.
I read somewhere he stands to loose 300+ Million from a divorce.
I really don’t think rehab will cure him.
His wife is better off with the children and the money.
Tiger, I’m sorry to say, will continue to spiral till he flames out totally.
300? Wow, that’s a lot of money. Tiger who?
65K?
Maybe Tiger is just looking ahead and trying to qualify for some Democratic Political office. You can’t get in unless you can get off the porch and play with the big boys (Spitzer).
Tiger Woods. Next mayor of Chicago?
“After much soul searching, I have decided to take an indefinite break from golf”.
Translation: “After getting caught cheating on my wife and being dishonest with my sponsors and fans, I have to decided to get my arse atta here, until this whole thing blows over.”
When talk of his “comeback” surfaces, why would anyone think he is going to be able play like he did before? Golf is a game of intense concentration. Distraction and the demise of his public image will be his downfall. Even Tiger’s level of arrogance and seeming self importance won’t be enough to salvage his career. He’s done, one way or another.
Work on his marriage? How’s that workin’ for ya, Tig? Elin is moving to Sweden and has hired a divorce lawyer.
Since the Super Bowl last year, I’ve been seeing more and more stuff like that written about Ben Roethlisberger. Several bartenders have been in the press saying that he comes into their bars and expects to drink for free. He even told a reporter that when he goes into a bar, people text their friends and within 20 minutes there will 300 people in the bar - so he thinks he should be comped. He’s making a few enemies on the Pittsburgh bar scene, that’s for sure.
Oh yeah, she’s the one that said all she got out of the relationship was “a broken heart” (boo-hoo)..
The joke is that Tiger’s wife will now be the second biggest money earner on the PGA tour.
He’s right. He, and anyone with him should drink for free.
If they think not, he should leave and go to the next closest bar. Then the bartender would have lots of room to sweep up and wash glasses.
Sorry, but you are wrong. There’s no written law that says he gets to drink for free just because he’s Ben Roethlisberger. As a former server myself, I can tell you that no matter who the hell you are, you offer to pay. Nine times out of ten, you’ll be comped anyway. But if you act like an ass and just walk out, the bar will be entitled to call the cops.
