The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Saturday shows that 25% of the nation's voters Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as President. Forty-one percent (41%) Strongly Disapprove giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of -16. Thats the lowest Approval Index rating yet recorded for this President (see trends).
The 25% who Strongly Approve matches the lowest level of enthusiasm yet recorded. Thats partly the result of declining enthusiasm among Democrats. While Democrats continue to offer their approval, just 43% Strongly Approve.
Among all voters, 36% now believe that the president is doing a good or an excellent job handling the economy while 45% rate his performance in this area as poor. Seventy-one percent (71%) of Democrats say hes doing a good or excellent job on the economy while 74% of Republicans say poor. Among those not affiliated with either major party, 52% give the President poor marks when it comes to the economy.
On national security matters, 39% rate the presidents performance as good or excellent while 36% say poor. Most voters nationwide lack confidence that NATO will do its part to help in Afghanistan. The Presidents new plan for Afghanistan draws mixed reviews from voters.

The Presidential Approval Index is calculated by subtracting the number who Strongly Disapprove from the number who Strongly Approve. It is updated daily at 9:30 a.m. Eastern (sign up for free daily e-mail update). Updates are also available on Twitter and Facebook.
Overall, 46% of voters say they at least somewhat approve of the President's performance. Fifty-three percent (53%) disapprove.

Sorry. Without the “S” tag I’m lost.
When the going gets tough, the tough head for the golf course.
I hate to rain on the parade, but some folks need to wake up and get a clue.
-16nobama does not care in the least what Rasmussen, or any other pollster, has to say about his performance. As long as he can continue to advance his socialist/Marxist agenda he doesn’t give a damn about polls.
Something to think about: Who gives nobama the power he needs to advance his agenda? Congress. Who gives Congress the power to give nobama the power he needs? We do, via the ballot box.
Not awake yet? ;^)
It’s a joke! Go back to the comment I was referring to. Common misspelled words on the Forum. “Hugh, series, mute, etc..”
Whoa! I thought the Nobel Prize circus would have boosted his ratings a bit. Maybe America just couldn’t stand seeing his face on TV ... AGAIN!
True, but he had *tremendous* political momentum just a few months ago.
What's amazing is that this country is overcoming that momentum as quickly as it is.
We ARE doing something: grassroots activism, Tea Parties, etc. and it is WORKING! Look at his and Congress' approval ratings.
Forgive me for being a little bit optimistic but despite the *clear* ground he's gained in the past few months I believe that IF we continue to act then his agenda will collapse along with the dem's control of the House and maybe even the Senate.
When that happens we can rescind all his prior progress and set this country back on it proper and successful Conservative Constitutional principles again.
That's because not only the strongly approve number but also the strongly disapprove number have both been moving pretty consistently within four-percent "trading ranges" for the past month: The SA number has stayed in the 25-29 range, while the SD number has been consistently in the 38-42 range.
So based on the available hard data, which would seem to be the best evidence at hand for the time being, it seems most likely to me that today's very nice outcome is simply a result of a random event, whereby the SA number is at the bottom of its consistent trading range, while the SD number is at the top of its consistent range.
Now let's just hope tomorrow's data will prove me completely wrong!
So what term are they going to use if they ever discover a real "right wing extremist"...like a true anarchist?
I thought it was hilarious!
I suspect the racial breakdown would be interesting too.
Yes, I think we need to keep up the pressure. My concern is if they pass any of the big 5, will we really be able to rescind/delete the program? These programs/departments do nothing (or worse) except waste taxpayer dollars and never go away. Look at the Departments of Energy and Education for example. I suspect a great majority of all programs/departments/agencies in Washington D.C. could be rescinded/deleted and we would all be a lot better off. Government, as an overall system, doesn't work. Who was it that said, "The Primary purpose of the Federal Government is to provide for the National Defense?" Can you Imagine a Federal government consisting of the Executive Branch, Legislative Branch, Judical Branch and Just the Pentagon? - and NOTHING else. Now, that's what I'm talkin' about. . . Yeah!
very interesting post and you may be right.
I also think the country is cleaved. We are about 50/50 split with about 10 percent of the population who swing either way. No president lately that I can think of has won with over 60 percent of the vote,,maybe somebody here knows. But most win with a spread of 5 percent.
We have a serious problem. Sometimes I think the Brits with their multiple parties have it right. We just go from one extreme to another. Just musing, not convinced of this at all.
Interesting prediction! Given that Obama is the worst possible idiot we can imagine, such a scenario would be an improvement....at least for 2012-2016!
Your sister posting to her liberal site:
And so goes the American discourse!
That is certainly a really important question. There will be enormous institutional inertia to overcome. And we have a pretty poor history of undoing this garbage ever, at least since Social Security was passed. Not to mention the Dept of Education, etc.
So my optimism isn't unbounded but we're on the right track. If we maintain the status quo, though, the end result will be to slowly, steadily slip into a socialist nightmare. We have to really *try* to overcome that inertia. I hope we're up to it.
why the big drop 2/3 through for HW? was that after his NWO speech?
I keep waiting for the dem congress to lose their nerve and start to defect. Or the senators to lose their nerve.
It is obvious that the country isn’t along for this ride we are on. How long can they ignore us?
And I don’t think the dem congress/senate are all bots doing the bidding of Obama. They want to be reelected, they are politically saavy.
That is why this doesn’t make sense. How long can they keep toeing the line?
We have to up to it or the country falters and dies. This is all so frustrating and at times tiring. But when I tire, I think of the Founders. . .
Gasp! Yesterday, it was at -12!!
