Free Republic is a fringe right-wing Christian fundamentalist site... or so they say... and they might even be right.
We don't go for any of that godless left-wing big government socialist malarkey. And we do put our faith and trust in God, not government. We are pro-God, pro-Life, pro-Family, pro-Country and pro-Liberty.
We do not believe that government or science knows what's best for us or our children. We will make our own decisions thank you very much.
Every once in a while some group of posters get together and try to bend Free Republic to their will. Now, we tend to be pretty free-wheeling around here and will take a lot of guff and a lot of obnoxious insults from a lot of people, but eventually a breaking point is reached.
For example, when a group of RINO lovers recently banded together to try to force FR to accept an abortionist/gay rights RINO as our presidential candidate, they soon found themselves on the outs.
And a few years ago a group of evolutionists tried to force FR over to their way of thinking and they soon found themselves on the outs.
FR is a pro-God, pro-Creator, pro-Life, pro-Liberty site.
And now we have yet another group of Darwinists trying to have their Darwinist way with us. Well, as I've said before what doesn't kill us will only make us stronger.
Darwin Central has again declared war on FR. They have ping lists and email lists and will try to pull away as many FReepers as they possibly can. So be it. Those who would rather go with Darwin, please go. I sure as hell won't try to stop you.
FR will remain a pro-God, pro-Life, pro-Liberty, pro-Creator conservative site.
We wholeheartedly believe that our unalienable rights are a gift from God our Creator not from man or government. And no man, no government will ever deprive us of same.

Catholics can be fundamentalist Christians, too. It simply means that God’s Word is the foundation of one’s belief. There are more complicated and doctrine-laden definitions, of course, because mankind likes to categorize things to death.
As to being “fringe”, liberals might wish their perceptioin were reality but reality is that we are mainstream, although a much smaller mainstream than there used to be.
Yes, It does. In one of the chapters before he meets with Moses and Elijah in his tent. We want to believe that he was the spirit on Sinai, but it’s clear that the ancient Jews did not believe that. If they did, why are these chapters in the old Testament?

As for what God was doing in human form on earth? It doesn’t say he was in a human form. God can meet you and still not be in a human form.
Still, many times it does say He comes in human form. For instance, when He wrestles with Jacob, a physical contest.
And most remarkably when Jesus came, in the flesh, “Emmanuel,” translated “God with us.”
Why does He come in human form? It doesn’t say, not that I can remember, but you know, God visits His people. He loves us.

It angers me that those who would “lead” do so using psychology and propaganda and not wisdom or truth, and often, not even real knowledge. I have debated Yeshiva Rabbis, Baptist Ministers, Jehova’s Witnesses, etc., and won. People are taught nothing that doesn’t fit into a niche, but you should NEVER stop learning.
If you refuse to seek knowledge out of the comfort of your “group,” then you are limited and your ability to reason with G-d is diminished. When you choose NOT to seek knowledge, you betray your own humanity which is the gift G-d gave us all.

Not buying it. It’s only 8 lines in the old testament. Personally I think it was something that the editors or the OT missed, and modern editors are trying to gloss over. Particularly because God appears as human, like the greek gods.

It just clearly stated that visitors are free to say anything they wish, and to be anything they want, so long as they don't attempt to substitute their own delusions for the owner's.

So then the point is, it is a rulebook, a manual, a guide, NOT a fable or an allegory. There was an awful lot added to it by those who handed it down by word of mouth that should not be there. There are constellations named in Job that were purely Greek, as was Lucifer later on.
Too much of the Hellenistic influence on the translations to be read without some discernment. if you read it purely, without the additions, it is stark and genuinely exceptional what you find there. It is the entirety of man’s history from his beginning journey on the way to becoming a reasoning human, AND what you need to know when the day of reckoning comes. It’s very specific.
