FIVE American Muslims arrested in Pakistan tried to join al-Qaeda but were rejected because they had no references from trusted militants, according to police. Police said the men, ranging in age from 19 to 25, wanted to join militants in Pakistan's tribal area before crossing into Afghanistan and had met two banned military organisations.
godha, said the five were "directly connected" to the al-Qaeda terrorist network. "They are proudly saying they are here for jihad (holy war]," he said.

Poor Johnny Jihad cannot battle the infidel without experience, but he cannot get experience without battling the infidel.
Brainiac bomb fodder
Wow! Even our home-grown Jihadist terrorists can’t get a job nowadays! Thanks, Hopey-Changey! LOL

Trivia Notation:
The same thing happened to Mehanna — he tried but couldn’t get accepted by the jihadis:

BOSTON.com: “NO BAIL FOR ALLEGED SUDBURY TERROR PLOTTER” by Shelley Murphy and Martin Finucane (SNIPPET: “Prosecutors allege that Mehanna, 27, and a second man, Ahmad Abousamra, 28, formerly of Mansfield, tried to join a terrorist training camp overseas, but were rejected, then plotted to shoot shoppers at a suburban mall, but scrapped the plan because they could not get automatic weapons. They are also accused of plotting to kill two unidentified government officials. Mehanna also allegedly incited violence by translating pro-jihad materials from Arabic to English and posting them on the Web.”) (November 18, 2009, 05:46 pm)
You just know you’re a total loser when you can’t even join Al-Queerda.
They should have brought their voter registration card.
If this is true, what references does al Qaeda require for someone to be brought in as a suicide bomber?
Idiots.
Al Queda must think these guys are CIA plants, and even with bonifides they probably wouldn’t accept them, just because they could be CIA. They have to tell the guys, like Nidal Hassan, to prove their worth to the cause elsewhere, like back home in Virginia/DC/Ft Hood/Ft Lewis/etc. areas....much better for Al Queda if these guys are sincere to have them blow up US targets.
The terrorists are doing their due diligence in screening candidates and we didn’t even do it for our most powerful leader.
Indeed. Maybe they should have applied for an internship. Lots of organizations like to pick up hires after an internship. I'm sure AQ has a program where you can volunteer and learn the fine art of bomb beltmaking, or staking out security depots. They should have gone over just before the start of summer, when the new interns come on board.
Qualifications?
“Larceny, armed robbery, rape, murder, rape”
“You seem to be reasonably well qualified, but we have only accept verifiable Muslims. This jpeg copy of your Certification of Islamic Conversion is not sufficient. We need to see a certified copy of the long form of the Conversion Certificate with the name of both sponsors, the place and date of conversion and the attending imam. Until we can examine that document, we cannot accept you. Sorry. Next!”
Toop funny.
Sooo, to become a crazy murdering moosie, ya need references?
Hey Sid, I know I’m leaving ya at a bad time but I have to go make war. Can ya give me a good reference letter?
What, are former U.S. State Dept. dumbasses running the moosie recruiting office?
Indeed. Maybe they could take advantage of a youth training programme the way that cops have a ride-along programme. Maybe AQ has a “bomb-along” programme. As for those AQ interships, I understand they can be brutal; not many make it past “Intorduction to Fighting Western Military Forces.”
It sounds like the terrorists have a better vetting process than the current Administration.
Imagine the terrorist unemployment office:
“So, Abullah, did you bomb this week? Did you try to bomb this week? Have you at least tried to kidnap and execute someone this week?”
