Darwins finches are a variety of small black birds that were observed and collected by British naturalist Charles Darwin during his famous voyage on the H.M.S. Beagle in the early 1800s. Years later, Darwin argued that subtle variations in their beak sizes supported his concept that all organisms share a common ancestor (a theory known as macroevolution). The finches, whose technical name is Geospiza, have since become classic evolutionary icons...

Debate on church doctrine and or threads on specific religious matters may be best posted in the religion forum, but the defense of religious freedom, especially against those who wish to deprive us of same belongs front and center on FR....They banned God and prayer and creationism from public schools and public places, but Ill be damned if theyre gonna ban Him or it from FR!

Ping!
Macroevolution? What was it previously, a toad?
“Good Afternoon Miss Dubose... My, you look like a picture this afternoon.”

Were the Grants to apply their method of analysis to human beings they would find many millions of distinct species of Man. My beak is shaped differently from my neighbor’s and my hair is of a different color and pattern. We therefore must be members of different species within the genus.
And despite minor differences, my, my do we show amazing conservation within our created kind!
You and your facts! (says evo while shaking fist)
At the same time the Sa'ami have a reputation for exceptional fertility given the right linkages.
BTW, the Sa'ami have some very clear cold climate adaptations that make them very different.
Charles Darwin himself exhibited some of those genetic adaptations, and his own children displayed approximately the same degree reproductive failure to be expected with an inappropriate Sa'ami mix (his and his wife).
And after all this time the finches are......finches. Song differences produced cross breeding, droughts killed off some, rainfall favored some, but after all the finches now are the finches of Darwin’s day.
Degenerated to just playing with your bird, eh?
As opposed to being cross(x) bred by a camel?
And the irony is that RG and GGG are finalists in this decades intellectual Darwin Awards competition. I predict GGG will win again for the third decade in a row just based upon the volume of work.
