A Boston man was sentenced today to life in prison without the possibility of parole, hours after a jury found him guilty of beating his 70-year-old father to death, then using a power saw to cut up the body before scattering the remains throughout the neighborhood.
Brian Lee showed no outward emotion when the jury returned a verdict of guilty on a charge of first-degree murder for the October 2006 slaying of Edward Lee at the victims home in Bostons Mattapan neighborhood, prosecutors said. He declined to make a statement at his sentencing Wednesday afternoon, Suffolk County District Attorneys Office spokesman Jake Wark said.
Prosecutors said at the Suffolk Superior Court that Lee bludgeoned his father to death as he lay in his bed on Oct. 27, 2006. The son then decapitated and dismembered the body and dumped the remains in the neighborhood, including in compost barrels in the backyard of a woman for whom he had once worked as a handyman.
The 44-year-old Lee was arrested after the horrified woman called police to say she found a severed head and limbs when she went with her daughter to investigate contents of white plastic bags he dumped at night in compost barrels. More body parts were found at the victims home.
Brian Lee had pleaded not guilty. He said in his own defense that he found his father dead in his home, covered with blood.
Prosecutors described the relationship between the father and his youngest son as "dysfunctional" with neighbors saying they heard them argue and observed their "cold and distant relationship."
The elder Lee had taken out a restraining order against his son two days before his death.
Lee represented himself with the assistance of attorney Denise Regan. She did not immediately return a call for comment.
And prosecutors described the father/son relationship as "dysfunctional" and "cold and distant." Really?! Ya think??!!
Making sau-sage *ping*...
Maybe Daddy should’ve been packing some heat, versus bothering with a restraining order? *SHIVER*

But you can’t chop your papa up in Massachusetts
And then get dressed and go out for a walk
No, you can’t chop your papa up in Massachusetts
Massachusetts is a far cry from New York

I am surprised they noticed the litter in Mattapan.
