OBAMAS WOULD LIKE TO NEUTER CHRISTMAS
Catholic League ^ | 12/7/2009

Posted on 12/08/2009 7:03:09 AM PST by markomalley

In yesterday’s New York Times, there was an article about White House social secretary Desirée Rogers. In it, reporter Sheryl Gay Stolberg wrote: “When former social secretaries gave a luncheon to welcome Ms. Rogers earlier this year, one participant said, she surprised them by suggesting the Obamas were planning a ‘non-religious Christmas….’”

This same participant said that “the Obamas did not intend to put the manger scene on display” (this was confirmed by the White House). Indeed, as Stolberg wrote, “there had been internal discussions about making Christmas more inclusive and whether to display the crèche.”

Catholic League president Bill Donohue addressed this issue today:

Unlike almost all Americans—including atheists—the Obamas do not give their children Christmas gifts. We know this because Barack bragged about this last year to People magazine. So it should come as no big surprise that he and his wife would like to neuter Christmas in the White House. That’s their natural step—to ban the public display of Christian symbols. Have any doubts? Last April, Georgetown University was ordered to put a drape over the name of Jesus as a condition of the president speaking there.

If the Obamas want to deprive their children of celebrating Christmas, that is their business. It is the business of the public to hold them accountable for the way they celebrate Christmas in the White House. We know one thing for sure: no other administration ever  entertained internal discussions on whether to display a nativity scene in the White  House.

Can anyone point out anytime anywhere that 0 actually demonstrated his alleged Christian faith, instead of merely proclaiming it?

All the evidence points the other way: How many times has 0 acted in accordance with Muslim principles and beliefs?

I believe the scales on this one are rather lopsided.

There are many pics of him staring down his nose at everyone, it’s his personal style. Makes him look like Mussolini. Appropriately so, IMHO.

As a retired Prot pastor, I stand with my Catholic friends in denouncing this faux CIC and faux Messiah in allowing liberalism to run rampant in not only the WH displays but in all 50 states as the Judeo-Christian WorldView is dissed by these pagans. And make no mistake, liberals are pagans. They want to undermine this fact in history so that all bets are off for every legal view on all types of oddities that the Left stands for is put into law.

Every year a friend of mine who is in the Secret Service gives my family an official White House Christmas tree ornament. They make them every year and I have every one going back to Clinton's last year in office.

I wonder if Obammy is going to allow it this year?

The official Whitehouse Christmas Tree Ornaments are available here to the public ... and have been since 1981. We have each and every one, including 2009. They make wonderful gifts.

We know that 0bama had no interest at all in church until someone told him that joining one would help his political career. So he chose Wright’s faux-Christian Marxist one. Now he sees no real reason to maintain the charade of attending church. Besides, he obviously has trouble with decisions: Afghanistan, even choosing a dog.

“how come they still haven’t picked out a D.C. church to go to??”

Don’t you sometimes get the feeling BHO doesn’t have a sincere bone in his body? Every indication suggested he’d strategically selected Rev. Wright’s church to enhance his political career in Chicago politics. His apparently intermittent attendance at that church paid off handsomely.
During the presidential primaries, his church-going was seen as a positive that helped convince people he could be a bridge-builder in a nation far more religious than the European state whose social policies he so admired. But then Rev. Wright “blew up” and it became politically convenient to jettison him, so Obama promptly did.

Having been elected in Nov. 2008, church-going obviously would eat into the time he’d rather devote to golfing. Progressives like Nancy Pelosi don’t care whether he attends church (just so long as his religious views don’t lead him to support pro-life views on abortion), so there’s no particular urgency to finding a church to attend. My guess is that he will suddenly “get” religion again in early 2012, when it starts looking more politically convenient to do so.

Why in the world doesn’t MarxistEmperorObama just stay on one of his many overseas trips and never come back? (I can dream, can’t I?)

Here’s hoping you’ve not been naughty even once this year and that Santa will grant you your wish: it sure would bring Xmas cheer to large numbers of Americans.

I had heard a similar version of this on the Michael Medved show by the representative from the Alliance Defense Fund, a conservative response to the ACLU, which litigates for First Amendment issues, particulary religious freedom.

He stated that the 0bamas had requested that the handmade ornaments, sent in by children from schools all over the US, not have a religious theme.

The 0bama Adminstration was set straight on the unconstitutionality of their request and it was rescinded.

This is why the family is going to Hawaii. They don't want to answer questions about why they do not celebrate Christmas like normal Christian Americans do.

That was my reaction also when I read that the 0bamas were going to Hawaii for christmas.

Not to Chicago, where they have roots and family, but to a place where they can hide out, and not be called out about their non-religious practices.

More fodder to question 0bama's real religion.....
