Per Fox. Title says it all. Gonna happen in time for Christmas. Gutless conservatives have been rightfully excluded from government.
You’re wrong, read my previous post:
One idea calls for national nonprofit insurance plans to be administered by the Office of Personnel Management, which oversees the popular Federal Employees Health Benefits Program.
The proposal seems to appeal to a key Republican, Sen. Olympia Snowe of Maine, who met with Obama at the White House on Saturday.
On Sunday, Snowe called the possible compromise a positive development because it would give consumers more options for buying insurance.
Snowes potential support for the Democratic-crafted bill is crucial. Supporters need 60 votes to overcome filibusters, and the chambers 40 Republicans hope to draw at least one Democrat to their side.
It could be Nelson, who says he will not support final passage of a health care bill unless it includes the tight abortion restrictions he wants. If so, Democrats would have to woo moderate Republicans such as Snowe.
This idea is an absolute non-starter, just like the trigger. Liberal Dems will never support it. Also, I cant find anything that says Snowe will vote for abortion funding in the bill.
The problem is that our national elite, which imcludes many so-called conservatives like Cornyn, WANT this. because of the sheer power it puts into their hands. When they call Palin, who is really a moderate Conservative, a “populist,” as if she were Tom Watson dedux, you know what they are about. They are probaly going to get their way because Conservatives—in the end—will not fight hard enough, will not use all the weapons they have in their hands. They could delay this thing into January— though I doubt they will—and let public opinion kill it. But if that happened, there would hell to bear, and they don’t have the nerve.
Not correct, anyone can be stopped. We have to be smart and do it through the ballot box!
Please let me know if/when you get an answer that works...This is pure insanity. Only 35% of the country supports this yet those that are supposed to represent us are going to do it anyway.
Stop this government...I want to get off!!!
I think that quite a few people are getting very near to the breaking point.
One more point, whatever happened to the “compromise” Tom Carper said he was trying to reach with Snowe et. al? Didn’t hear anything did ya? Snowe wants a “trigger,” which many liberal Dems have said “no” to. Also, Snowe voted against Reid’s “compromise” bill which included a government run public option.
Who's really trying to stop them? I think the GOP just figures it's going to help them in the next election cycle.
The Liberals have used lawyers to get them where they are, challenging every legal angle that didn't fit with their agenda. Why don't we have any lawyers? Why aren't we fighting in court against the czars, cap & trade, healthcare?
I don't even see us trying to slow them down. ; (
Sorry, I don’t believe it. I’ve always felt Snowe was pretty mad at Harry Reid when he told her he would include the trigger and just as soon as she sided with him to vote the health care bill out of committee, he yanked the trigger out. I’d be surprised if Snowe wouldn’t insist the trigger be put back in for her vote.
If anyone saw Orin Hatch on Fox News today about Harry Reid’s remarks, Hatch said something towards the end that was rather interesting. He said that ALL the Republicans are incensed that they’ve been closed out of any type of negotiations and they are ALL united. He was pretty livid-even for Orin Hatch. I got the distinct impression that ALL actually met ALL. This would explain Reid’s meltdown today. He now has to get ALL Democrats to side with him.
The question isn’t what WE would do , it asked what you THINK the COLONISTS would do !
The way to kill healthcare is to vote for cloture and then vote it down
I thought Ben Nelson was to introduce an amendment like the Stupak amendment in the house, and would not support the bill without it? Anyone know what Nelson has done on that?
And both Snowe and Lincoln said they’d oppose a government option. Are they hiding behind some trigger option game?
Lieberman also supposedly against any public option, and if he stands on that Reid must have all others Dims, Bernie Sanders and one RINO.
What about Baucus, Lieberman, Nelson, Lincoln?
There are at least three no’s when public option and abortion are included.

Told ya this was a done deal.
The fix is in. What we’re seeing now is just a little dance before the supposed Dem holdouts get their asking price and Snowe is conned into supporting the bill as a “legacy” to her bipartisanship. Maybe they’ll even put her name on the bill - Kennedy - Snowe anyone?
Seven Days In May.
Snowe was never a conservative. Who are you talking about? Hatch said earlier on Fox that all the Republicans are standing together against this bill - of course, it's hard to believe Snowe is a Republican, but still. . . What conservatives are you talking about?
I think that what we need to do, now that the abortion issue has become a part of this bill, is make this a referendum on abortion.
Debate-wise, the only strong card in the pro-abortionists’ hands when it comes to public opinion is the “Freedom of Choice” card. They argue that a woman should be free to do with her own body whatever she wants. As flawed as that argument is, let’s just say “fine” to that for a moment.
Abortion as a part of publicly-offered insurance is not a matter of choice. In fact, it strips away the choice of us who vehemently oppose abortion by making us pay for what we consider inherently and utterly immoral. A strong number of Americans oppose abortion. They might have been sweet-talked into accepting the public option but now this has become a moral issue. Even the Catholic Church now has a moral obligation to put pressure on both the public and upon senators to see that this doesn’t pass. We just have to act fast and focus on spotlighting the moral issues here.
Their insistence on the inclusion of abortion within this bill might very well be the entire bill’s undoing if we play our cards right.
I hereby vow to cease paying federal taxes the day this monstrosity is signed, for it shall invalidate the contract known as the Constitution and all ties to it.
I hope I am wronb but I bet I’m not!
YOU CAN NEVER TRUST OLYMPIA SNOWE to do what is good for the country. She WILL ALWAYS SELL HER SELF to the highest bidder, ALWAYS!
Perhaps a more relevant question is “What acts of non-violent civil disobedience would conservatives be willing to do, realizing that a liberal judge would throw the book at them”.
