Gibbs takes a swipe at the GOP
The Hill ^ | 12/4/2009 | Sam Youngman

Posted on 12/04/2009 12:10:12 PM PST by markomalley

White House press secretary Robert Gibbs told reporters in his West Wing office Friday that the Republican Party's approval rating is "only slightly above the national drinking age."

Gibbs was criticizing GOP efforts to delay Senate passage of the healthcare bill.

With only two amendments being voted on so far, Gibbs was asked if a more realistic deadline for the healthcare bill is somewhere around the State of the Union address in late January.

"I'm not going to wiggle on the date," Gibbs said.

He said the president still wants a bill he can sign this year, and Obama "would be happy to sign it in Hawaii," where he is spending Christmas.

"I can think of any number of picturesque settings" where Obama could sign the bill, Gibbs said.

I’m not sure who is the biggest @$$hole of the bunch but Gibbs is right up there with them all! Can’t wait to hear his breifing after the Congressional elections in 2010! Definately a man who makes Baghdad Bob look like a truth teller!

WHAT????

I'm stunned. The Obama family is spending Christmas in Hawaii???!!!

Really?

It would seem unthinkable that any president who loved this country would want their children to spend their first Christmas anywhere but the White House!!

Come on, Christmas in the WHITE HOUSE??? I'd give an important body part to give that experience to my children...or dogs...or collection of Dopey figurines.

WTF is with these people?

Great way for Gibbs to create enemies and influence friends (voters).

Gibs needs to keep on Alienating Republican and Independent Voters. After all, Obama doesn't need them obviously.

Even with my over active immagination, I can not imagine Tony Snow ever saying anything as devisive, cutting, partisan...... and IF he had, there would have been immediate (warranted) calls (from BOTH sides of the aisle) for his removal. Why are the Republicans allowing this to continue? I certainly don’t expect the “appropriate” response from the Dems, but if the RINOs would get of the dead A$$ES and look like they’ve got a pair, it would make those of us in flyover country a lot more supportive!

Notice how all reporters present immediately shouted that the polls show something quite different?

That's nice PRESIDENT Gibbs. BTW, I hated him on the Saturday Night Fever soundtrack.

Ugh, that doughy-faced toad. “Picturesque” indeed. It’s all about pictures of Pretty Princess Obama.

“On a Glacier in Hell”

Good one!

It’s so useful.

Obama is about as believable as a glacier in Hell.

How is global warming like a glacier in Hell?

I couldn’t resist, it’s been a bad week.

People are still assuming they celebrate Christmas... Why would a Muslim family want to stay in the White House which will presumably decked out like it is every year for the holidays — or will this be an excuse for NOT decorating the White House? “We won’t be here, so why bother?”

I’m wondering what Obama will say when he lights the National Tree? We’re still going to have one, RIGHT????

Just realized, that this holiday season in DC might be very interesting indeed...

Some theorize that the White House is haunted by the ghosts of Presidents past; and they don’t like Zero much!

That’s why he gets out of the WH at every possible opportunity!

*BTW not necessarily my theory but it’s entertaining!

Please correct me if I am wrong, but I thought state's set the drinking age, not the national government. I know that state's were coerced to make the drinking age twenty-one in order to receive federal government funding for roads, but I was under the impression that drinking laws were set by states.
