Tea Party Express, Part Three
CNN ^ | Dec 3, 2009 | Paul Steinhauser

Posted on 12/03/2009 4:26:06 PM PST by BAW

Just about every blockbuster movie is followed by a sequel, or two. The tea party cross country caravan, it appears, is no different.

A Tea Party Express official tells CNN that they're planning a third national tour in late March and early April that will culminate in the nation's capitol on April 15, tax deadline day.

Levi Russell, a spokesman for the group, which is organized by the conservative political action committee Our Country Deserves Better, says the slogan for the tour is "just vote them out."

Russell says that with the crucial 2010 midterm elections just months away, the tour will spotlight members of Congress who they consider the worst offenders when it comes to fiscal policy. While both Republicans and Democratic lawmakers will be targeted, Russell acknowledges that more Democrats than Republicans will be on their scopes.

Russell tells CNN that tour is expected to kick off on March 27 in Searchlight, Nevada, which is the hometown of Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid. He adds that the three Republican candidates running to challenge Reid in next year's election are planning to attend the rally.

Just as the first tea party cross country caravan ended in the nation's capital, as part of a taxpayers march on Washington on September 12, this national tour is also scheduled to conclude in D.C. as well. The conservative group FreedomWorks organized the first march on Washington and will reprise their role for the April 15 event.

The first march ended with a large rally in front of the U.S. Capitol. This time organizers plan to hold their rally near the White House.

Is it time for passive resistance? If there is massive passive resistance, can the feds put millions of us in jail?

The socialist, statist USA the left are set on needs tax receipts and confiscation to run on to pay out the promised “benefits”. Just don’t pay the taxes and don’t send your money to Washington.

Self-employed make quarterly estimated tax payments. Maybe the self-employed should estimate zero tax for a few quarters. Wage earners have taxes taken out on each paycheck. Maybe wage earners should put down five or ten dependents on the form and not over withhold next year. Remember, that refund wage earners look forward to is just extra pre paid taxes being returned without interest.

If tax receipts fell off markedly, Washington politicians might just realize we are not to be ignored. Right now, the Democrats think having majorities in Congress and the White House makes them invulnerable.

With Tea parties planned locally on April 15th, no way will the numbers be as great on April 15th in DC as they were on September 12 when few Tea Parties were planned locally.

NOT a good idea. Better to have the BIG DC rally around the 12th every year as the pro-lifers do on January 22.

Wonder why Freedom Works and Tea Party Patriots couldn't wait 'til September?

I also wonder if the April 15th date will draw the size crowd due to families having difficulty getting away with kids in school and all. Also concerned about the Glenn Beck DC event which is planned for August 28th. Wish the events were within the same week or joined together.

Whatever is decided upon, I will be doing my very best to be there. But then, I am retired and can manage to get there much easier than others.

That's great that there will be many tea parties across the country on April 15th again this year.

The one that people in DC will attend will be the one that the TPXIII tour attends.

And I imagine many from nearby (and across the country) will make it to Washington to take part.

Yea, it would be nice to have 1.5 million in DC again, and having 50,000 or so (again) join with about 40 tea parties across the country when TPXIII rolls through their areas will be a good start.

Then in DC on Tax Day 2010.

The Tea Party Express org's motto for the TPXII was "The Official Sponsor of The 2010 Elections," and with the new motto being "Just Vote Them Out' the theme continues.

So I think that having this tour ending on Sept 15th in DC is a GOOD idea.

But it is also a good idea to have a big rally in DC around Sept 12th and I think that the OurCountryDeservesBetterPAC will have another Tea Party Express going across country and ending in DC next fall.

But as the theme is the 2010 elections, it will probably end closer to November 2nd, Election Day!

I don't know what Tea Party Patriots is doing, they pretty much went off on their own path.

Tea Party Express is staying at the grass roots level.

As far as Freedom Works is concerned, there is some chatter that they will be involved in the tea party on April 15th in DC.

I couldn't find anything on their website, but did find this at WND:

FreedomWorks is partnering with the American Liberty Alliance and several other groups to launch a massive Tax Day tea party at the White House Ellipse on April 15, 2010.

"We're delivering this one right to the White House," Adam Brandon of FreedomWorks said. "It could spill out over into the Washington Monument, so it'll be a hell of a visual."

I imagine "other groups" includes the Tea Party Express III

Here is The Link to the Liberty Alliance blurb about the April 15 event in DC.

They are expecting over a million people in attendance.

I find it is not a good idea to misunderestimate the millions of people that are getting stirred up because of where the leftist/Marxists are trying to take this great country.

This is going to be great!

I hope the Tea Party "originators" don't have another hissy-fit!
So what if they do! They'll get over it !!

See you in DC!

P.S. How were the Fuentes?

“P.S. How were the Fuentes?”

OK, McMuffin, please enlighten me on the meaning of the above! :)

DC on April 15th will be fun! Only problem is that the trip may cause me to be late in mailing in my taxes. But not to worry. I just realized that my being late really won't be a problem since Timothy Geithner hasn't mailed in his 2003 taxes yet!

Oh man the Fuentes were great!

I especially liked the smaller one

My co-pilot on the ride back to the west coast and I stoked ‘em up with that awesome blow-torch lighter you gave me

Thanks for that and the great cigars!

LOL@ the T”PP”ers. (talk about getting all wee wee'd up...)

You can't co-opt a grass roots movement with millions of people coming out because of the actions of a corrupt government.

The TPX people know who the leaders of the Tea Party Movement are...the afore mentioned millions of citizens that see they have to let their voices be heard to drown out the socialist Marxist twist being foisted on our Constitutional Republic.

See you down the road buddy!
