Obama science advisers grilled over hacked e-mails (It's ON!)

WASHINGTON – House Republicans pointed to controversial e-mails leaked from climate scientists and said it was evidence of corruption. Top administration scientists looking at the same thing found no such sign, saying it doesn't change the fact that the world is warming.

The e-mails from a British university's climate center were obtained by computer hackers and posted online about two weeks ago. Climate change skeptics contend the messages reveal that researchers manipulated and suppressed data and stifled dissent, and conservative bloggers are dubbing it "Climategate."

In the first Capitol Hill airing of the issue, House Republicans Wednesday read excerpts from at least eight of the e-mails, saying they showed the world needs to re-examine experts' claims that the science on warming is settled. One e-mail from 2003 was by John Holdren, then of Harvard University and now the president's science adviser.

The exploding controversy led Phil Jones to step aside as head of the climate research unit at the University of East Anglia, the source of the e-mail exchanges. The university is investigating the matter. Penn State University also is looking into e-mails by its own researcher, Michael Mann. House Republicans asked for a separate hearing or investigation into the issue, but were rebuffed by Democrats.

"These e-mails show a pattern of suppression, manipulation and secrecy that was inspired by ideology, condescension and profit," said U.S. Rep. James Sensenbrenner, R-Wis.

Anyone have the lame stream media contact information at hand??

The same can be said for blue dog RATS that are vulnerable...we need to force them to take a position on this. That will force a larger wedge into the RATS’ posturing on this topic and even on the CRAP and TAX still facing the Senate.

Ah, but the steam condensation looks so much more impressive — and the libtard boobs are fooled.

Well looky there!

I'm a software developer. Have been for more decades than I care to admit to. The "hockey stick" modeling program is just inexcusable. If they had done ANY testing of it (like the Monte Carlo analysis in my prior post), they would have seen there was a problem.

This indicates that they are either incompetent, or deliberately out to deceive. Based on the emails and the "Harry read me" file, I conclude it's the latter.

"Could anyone explain to me why the “media” uses pictures of nuclear facilities cooling towers emitting Water Vapor(steam) when they are doing stories on Air Pollution?"

They do this for the same reason that they long ago stopped referring to carbon dioxide, instead just shortening it to "carbon." It gives the impression of something dirty and sooty instead of what it actually is - just a harmless invisible gas that is emitted every time we exhale. This alone should cast serious doubt on the whole theory. If you have to resort to deceptive images and buzzwords (propaganda) to sell your theory, then there is every reason to doubt its scientific validity.

Neither water vapor nor CO2 are pollutants.

All that steamy water vapor coming off those cooling towers sure looks cool though.
Of course, there are some people that don't like that either. Why Plume Abatement?

Much of the original data files were thrown away and cannot be recovered. We have no idea what might have been lost or how it might have been manipulated.

Climate change data dumped

First of all...what the hell is an “administration scientist”? Is that like the king’s wizards and alchemists?

I picture a guy walking around the white house in a white labcoat carrying a clipboard. Wears glasses, balding, and might be best described as “doughy”.

Could anyone explain to me why the “media” uses pictures of nuclear facilities cooling towers emitting Water Vapor(steam) when they are doing stories on Air Pollution?

I have been wondering the same thing for years. The media is really the culprit in all the corruption swirling around in Washington D.C. these days. I had an uncle that was a Representative many decades ago (instrumental in starting up the rural electrification administration, REA), and he would be turning over in his grave if he could see how the Congress operates in 2009. In fact I know he would have not sought re-election.

Could anyone explain to me why the “media” uses pictures of nuclear facilities cooling towers emitting Water Vapor(steam) when they are doing stories on Air Pollution? Sometimes they also use ordinary stacks emitting water vapor. Are they saying water vapor is a pollutant?

They are simply revealing their ignorance.

First, they don't realize that it's steam. Second, they wouldn't know that steam is not a pollutant. Instead, they think any industrial emission is "pollution". Tghey're simply not equipped to make distinctions.

Journalists are at the bottom of the IQ scale. And they prove it every day.

Thanks for the inputs.

My thoughts on global warming are that Herr Goebbels and P.T.Barnum would be proud the climate scaremongers are proving them correct.

perhaps more directly stated as: Envirocultists had to resort to deceptive images and buzzwords (propaganda) on day one to sell their bogus theory, so there always was every reason to doubt its scientific validity. They resort to the 'nuclear option' at every opportunity! (when they can't use the push grandma down the staircase option) That it took this long for the lie to be outed shows the 'power of the media' when the media has sold out to the left! The 'PSU' gold stamp of approval has turned to the clean end of a turd.
