First Church Disbands, This Web Site Set to Expire

After several days of evaluation, I have decided to disband the First Church of Tiger Woods (as indicated by the graphics at the top of this web site) and I will not renew the TigerWoodsIsGod domain name when it expires in a couple of months. Any future commentary on this site (which may not happen at all) will be regarding Tiger’s failings in relation to his affair/accident debacle which continues to unfold almost by the hour.
Because the First Church of Tiger Woods has been in existence since late 1996 and this web site has been around since early 2000, you might think that such a decision might be difficult. In this case, it was not. Unfortunately, Tiger Woods has made it all to easy to realize that he is no longer worthy of any special admiration.
The events of the past few days have revealed Tiger to be a serial adulterer, a blatant liar, and a selfish coward. While I am sure I will always respect his ability as a golfer, that was only a very small part of why this much misunderstood web site was created and why it became such a big part of my life.
As I have documented in my columns below, Tiger is clearly no longer deserving of being seen as a role model or a hero and he has needlessly squandered his unique potential to be a positive force in our country and the world. While I am relatively sure that Tiger will make a comeback from this sad episode and that there will be great moments for him in the future, I personally am done with Tiger Woods and I doubt that I will even care very much about whatever else he might achieve on the golf course (for someone who once vowed to make sure he lived until he saw Tiger get to 19 major championships, I have a hard time believing I can write those words with such ease).
For the record , here are a list of Tiger’s “sins” that make it impossible for me to continue with this web site.
He has had multiple affairs with sleazy women while married to the mother of his children and he has, to this date, not told the truth about them.
He has lied about the circumstances surrounding his accident in an arrogant and insulting fashion.
He has bailed on his own tournament and foundation just to shield himself from the media and lied about why he was doing doing so.
His silence to the police and the public has been an embarrassment to his fans and leaves us with no rational choice but to assume the very worst about what the truth really is.
In the end, this situation, like much of life is all about expectations. To whom much is given, much is expected. No one has ever been given more than Tiger and therefore our expectations for him were also unprecedented. He has failed to live up to those expectations and he has shattered a sacred trust that cannot be repaired. Therefore, Tiger Woods now has at least one less supporter. I am quite sure that I am not alone.
Sometimes celebrities give in to the pressure of having to get married, even if it's against their will. It appears that may have happened in Tiger's case. Sure they want the family and all that, but they still think they are rich and famous enough to have it both ways.
It’s up to him to become a man worthy of
being called “Dad”.

Anyone who gets their eyes on men will ultimately be disappointed. That's just the nature of man. Thank God, there's God.
As an avid collector of sports cards, I have watched the failings of Pete Rose, Barry Bonds, Alex Rodriquez, Mark McGwire and Sammy Sosa, just to name a few. Can't tell you how many dollars they've cost me ...but I digress.
Let us hope that Jeter remains the exception. I still admire sports heroes such as Cal Ripken, Nolan Ryan, Brett Favre (some might question his loyalties), Wayne Gretzky, Jerry Rice and Joe Montana. In the end, even these may disappoint.
I was up early to catch Phil tee-off at the Western Open, one year.
The harlots following him around, dressed in skanky clothes and stiletto-heels at 0700 hrs, was comical.

In a sane world, this article could not exist. Ziegler appears to be merely another part of the Sinister media he has criticized in the past.

It's not as if Tiger, in his possible error, had been aiding and abetting those on the verge of enslaving the entire planet.No ****ing wonder Ziegler couldn't keep his radio shows.
Warning to Sarah P -- fanatics like Ziegler can turn nasty should you stumble like any human. The temptations are especially great for those who rise anywhere near the top in this substance-ignorant and celebrity-centric culture.
Sorry, but I cannot help but feel Ziegler is merely piling on.

Tiger was NEVER a role model. To anyone who saw him as one, you only saw what you wanted to see. You were deluded. Tiger's fits of temper on the golf course told me all I needed to know about his character, and I didn't like it. His swearing, his throwing of the golf clubs, his pumped-up fists of aggression... None of that was pleasant to watch. He changed the character of the game. What was once a sedate gentlemen's game now became a testosterone-fueled pump-fest.
And boo to the sportscasters who made every game about Tiger, whether he was winning or not. We would tune in to see ALL our favorite players, but practically all we got to see was Tiger. You knew there were a dozen other players on the course... but where were they? They certainly weren't being shown on TV. All the focus was on Tiger. They might as well have renamed each and every golf event on TV, The Tiger Show. After a while, you realize, why bother to watch; you're not going to get to see anyone else.
Damn. That’s a hell of a sudden send off from an apparently rabid fan.
Kudos to the author. It takes cojones to stand up for what you believe in, even to the point of jettisoning an idol. Well done.

The other players on the PGA largely resent it because they are treated like dummies. They rationalize it because Tiger draws big TV audiences and it boosts the purses. He became very rich but helped a lot of other guys get richer too.
Golf has always been a different animal and is supposedly a gentleman’s game and a lot of his actions do not represent golf well. Oddly - Arnold Palmer was pretty flamboyant for the 1950s in his prime.
The Tiger fan boy thing that bugged me that he was golf or bigger than golf. Golf is 200+ years old and it will still be golf after he is gone.
Same syndrome with Barry Bonds who was a fraud and because he is playing now is “the best ever.” No Ted Williams batted .406, fought in two wars and never used steroids. If Ted had not served as a fighter pilot in two wars - he would have probably smashed every record including HRs.
Ditto Mickey Mantle and Roger Maris who were strong from working on the farm not steroids. I think Mickey dug ditches as a kid too.
I believe you’re right to a certain extent. When Tiger is involved, it does bump up the draw, so I’m also sure many of those golfers do appreciate the reinvigoration that took place do to and surrounding him.
He is/was an incredible talent.
Maybe Tiger could get a multi-million dollar contract endorsing condems.

The article is pretty straight forward. I can understand the need for it on several levels.

Like him or not, Tiger worked hard to develop his abilities, and those abilities were stellar. Although he has been given much acclaim, he earned it with his talent.
I don’t see the situation accurately described by just saying he was given much. No he wasn’t. He established himself in the sport. People with money to invest, approached him do to his notoriety based on his proven skills and popularity.
This was not given to him. He earned it. He was deemed a good investment.
He did have a responsibility to live up to a certain standard. Like many others, he let his family and ultimately even himself down. I am sorry to see it.

It’s his personal tragedy and the world wants to indulge in his error. THAT is another form of valuelessness. Especially considering that our wannabe rulers are busily protecting their rears and that of their climatadweeb charlatans.
Bottom line. The world is rubber-necking his personal failure.
It’s not like Tiger’s actions were in furtherance of those who are actively seeking to enslave you next week. This story come precisely at a time when the Sinister Media urgently needs red-herrings.
