Dick Cheney should not run for President. I like him right where he is. He is free to say what he wants about the current TURD in the White House. He is providing an invaluable service to this nation by exposing Osbama as the empty suit he really is.
To: caddystacks
Why: so we can have 4 more years of Obama. I am sure News Week really wants Cheney as President.

The problem is his heart. As much as I admire the man’s politics (so far as I know them, anyway), his health will kill any hopes for office for the people who consider such things important.

And maybe Joe Lieberman can run as an Independent, splitting the lib-tard vote, and handing the presidency to Cheney.

Cheney is the one person who can draw more fire than Sarah, and it would be fun, but it isn’t going to happen. His heart doesn’t need the aggravation.

President Obama's unapologetic multilateralism How about Obama's "apologetic to the point of groveling at the feet of other nations" multilateralism.

Never happen if only for health reasons, but wouldn’t a real debate between Cheney and Soetoro the Kenyan be an awesome pay-per-view event.

IMO, the major reason for Cheney speaking so forcefully is the absolute reticence of George W. Bush to defend his policies.
This failure has left a vaccuum in this nation's political discourse.
Sadly, Dubya followed in his father's footsteps, by fading away without a fight.

No. We need Richard Bruce Cheney to be president right now. Can't Ozero be impeached or found to be ineligible or something?

No. Good Lord, no. And I’m one of his biggest fans. The heart trouble alone would be a legitimate reason to vote against him.

Interesting reasoning by the author and, I think, right on target. The Republicans need to offer a clear alternative to Obama, regardless who the nominee is. The biggest danger is that the party nominates a lackluster candidate (normal against an incumbent) with Obama-lite views and fails to take advantage of the dynamics in the voter pool.....

Cheney would lose and that’s why Newsweek wants him to run.
To: caddystacks
I said it before, I’ll say it again... if there’s a massive attack on this country in the next two years, Cheney will run and Cheney will win. I love Palin, but if we’re attacked, America is going to be begging for a leader like Cheney.
And Newsweak should be careful what they wish for. The only conceivable way I could ever feel sorry for Zero is if he had to go against Dick Cheney in a debate.
To: caddystacks
They're still trying to pick our candidate for us and derail the Palin juggernaught.
Sorry guys. Thanks but no thanks.

One of the problems with governance since the election of Bill Clinton has been the resolute refusal of the opposition party (the GOP from 1993 to 2001, the Democrats from 2001 to 2009, and now the GOP again in the Obama years) to concede that the president, by virtue of his victory, has a mandate to take the country in a given direction.Congress in 1994 didn't have a mandate?
You lost me there.
