FAIRFIELD, Calif. (CBS13) ―

An unidentified military veteran was involved in a tense confrontation with anti-war activist Cindy Sheehan and the group Code Pink at a rally at Travis Air Force Base on Saturday, November 28, 2009.

CBS

A Saturday rally led by anti-war activist Cindy Sheehan at Travis Air Force Base nearly ended in a brawl when a military veteran physically confronted the protesters.

Anti-war group Code Pink demonstrated at the military base Saturday morning in the first of six planned protests against unmanned military drones currently in use in overseas war zones.

Sheehan, a well-known anti-war activist whose son was killed while serving in Iraq in 2004, was leading the demonstration with a megaphone when a man dressed in a formal military uniform stepped up to her and berated her.

Videotape of the incident shows that Sheehan yelled "Get out of my face" through the megaphone at the man, who slapped the device away. Other protesters immediately joined Sheehan and traded insults with the man, and a shoving match broke out.

Military police quickly pulled the two sides apart.

The military veteran told reporters that he was upset with the anti-war protesters' effect on troop morale. "They ruin the troops. They get to the troops. They did the same thing in Vietnam," he said.

The man declined to give his name to reporters. "I don't want to be a personality over this, that's not my intention," he said.

Sheehan told reporters that she was disappointed her protest against what she called "morally reprehensible" military drones was interrupted by the man.

"We are here non-violently, and he came up and shoved the megaphone into my face," she said. "I'm never going to stop, no matter how we're oppressed."

Sheehan said she would be speaking to an attorney about legal action against the man.

Code Pink protester Xan Joy, who physically confronted the man during the incident, called the man a "bully" and said his behavior was meant to intimidate the protesters.

"He should be so happy and grateful that there are people in this country that are trying to protect him and his children and everybody's children from war," Joy said.

The events of the day did not end when the protesters packed up and left. When part of Code Pink's caravan paused in the middle of the road, Sheehan was given a ticket for impeding traffic.

"I got assaulted by this old man and I'm the one given a ticket. So, yeah, it's bulls***," Sheehan said.

Several members of Code Pink said they wanted charges filed against the man in uniform, but no arrests were made.

Actually, the Sarge showed immense restraint. He’s seen it before. I bet he carries the memory of being spat on or cursed at the very same Travis AFB 35 years ago, when returning from Vietnam a true hero but treated as a pariah by Communists on our own soil. You don’t forget that. You dont forget the scumbag who did that to our vets, of which Cindy Sheehan and her disciples are not only the very disciples of such scum, some of them in the 60s and 70s were probably also “spitters” and yellers of “baby killer” right there on that same spot 35 years ago.

At the very least, each of those pinko gatherings should receive a couple of aggressive, very low overhead passes (buzz jobs) by an unmanned drone.

Spot on. The MSM put and maintained her in the spotlight. The fifteen minutes is over Pinko. Go away.

At each of their scheduled protests, all local true American citizens who support our troops should show up to counter their rally. (If I could afford it, I would travel to all of their protests myself and fight for our military. We all should!) If Shahan was disappointed because the awesome veteran (who deserves another medal by the way) showed up and disrupted their protest, imagine how she would feel when thousands of Troop supporters showed up and squashed their little protest. The should be supporting our Troops, not condemning them. Those women are disgraceful.

Lol! That's funny. But Sheehan, like Code Pink itself, isn't *ideologically* on-board with the islamic terrorists like they are with the communists. They do, however, certainly sympathize with them as the left does with just about any enemy of America.

Unholy Alliance: Radical Islam and the American Left
by David Horowitz

Amazon Book Review:
"Vastly Illuminating!" September 25, 2004
By Kat Bakhu

"I had long wondered why people on the Left had the propensity to speak more positively about people who would slit their throats than they do about their own country, which affords them more freedom and opportunity than anywhere else. David Horowitz has answered that question thoroughly and convincingly in his Unholy Alliance. Where I felt bewildered and confused, I now feel crystal clear. Unholy Alliance is such a great book.

It begins with the leftist movements at the beginning of the 20th Century, and works its way up to the present day, exploring the anti-American attitude of these movements in detail. Horowitz shows that the enemies of the US back then are largely the same group today, operating under the same misperceptions, making the same mistakes, and pursuing the same impossible utopia.

Individual chapters are included on the Patriot Act (I was persuaded that it is a GOOD thing); the democratic flip-flop on Iraq once G.W. Bush implemented what they agreed with Clinton needed to be done; the driving components of the current anti-war movement; as well as chapters on individual personalities who are major spokespeople of the Left. Horowitz covers a lot of ground, and he covers it concisely and clearly. Unholy Alliance is richly informative without ever being boring or plodding.

This book is so illuminating that I simply cannot do justice to it here. I love people who reason so clearly that they help me get my own reasoning clear. Horowitz is just that type of person! In the terrain of mindless clichés (no-blood-for-oil, etc.), he is a breath of real fresh air."

Not all dissent is equal, and Americans whose actions are calculated to give aide and comfort to the butchers who murdered 3,000 innocent people on September 11, 2001 are not patriotic at all... they are, in fact, quite the opposite.

Not sure, but it looks like Command Pilot wings on his uniform. . . indicating he should be an officer.

I'm not sure, nut his ribbons don't seem to be correct, either. . .out of order.

Futher, the cloth jump wings he has over his right breast are out of order, to be correct, those wings should not be cloth but metal.

But then again, blurry and hard to tell.

Cindy Sheehan, if you are going to make statements about military equipment please at least research  what it really can do.The American drone (the MQ-1 predator) has a maximum range of 2,302 miles, it is not controlled “here in America” to “drop bombs in Pakistan”. Secondly the MQ-1 predator does not drop bombs or fire any form of weapon, it preforms reconnaissance. I don’t care what you think, feel, or do, all I care about is that you get the facts straight before you make a statement after trespassing on government property, attempting to provoke the military police, and insult a veteran. I am sure your son would be proud.

Your PJ buddies should know this guy. . .no matter when he served.

But questions remains, as I asked in post 112.

Something doesn’t look right.

Ask your PJ buddies the same questions.

While I applaud his taking on the skanks, I do have questions about his legitimacy as a former warrior.

Were unmanned drones a part of Travis

Unless the controls have been moved I think they are flown from a different Base. Which I won't name but has been reported about.
