WINDERMERE, Fla. -- Golfer Tiger Woods was seriously injured when he hit a fire hydrant and then a tree outside of his Isleworth home early on Friday morning, officials said.
The Florida Highway Patrol said Woods was seriously injured and taken to Health Central Hospital. The Orange County Fire Department confirmed that a patient was taken to Health Central, but would not confirm that the patient was Woods.
Woods was driving a 2009 black Escalade, FHP said. He hit a fire hydrant outside of his home and a tree outside his neighbor's home.
FHP said the crash is still under investigation.

"FoxNews reporting the airbags in his Escalade didn’t employ.. so speculation is heFREE the contents of the Escalade's 'black box' now ...
Let's see what speed was indicated just prior to impact (it should have registered, even if it was no-go on the airbag deplyment.)
“$1.1B Tiger Woods Dubai course plan on track”
Should note it is an Aug. 2008 article, and much has changed regarding Dubai investments since.
Even so, any wise billionaire would/should be diversified.
either you have to go bigger yet or I am blind......where is the fire hydrant? or was it at some ho’s house?
In other news... Many not so rich and famous people died and got hurt today. My prayers are for them.
Now there's a reliable source.
Hey, I saved even more by not driving to a Wal-Mart today!
An Event Data Recorder or EDR is a device installed in some automobiles to record information related to vehicle crashes or accidents.
...
Information from these devices can be collected after a crash and analyzed to help determine what the vehicles were doing before, during and after the crash or event.
The term generally refers to a simple, tamper-proof, read-write memory device, similar to the "black box" found on airplanes (as opposed to the tape recorders and video cameras common in police vehicles and many commercial trucks).
I join in prayer for his complete and speedy recovery.
I think I want to take that back. After blowing up the picture, it looks like the object is white and not quite the right shape. That would rule out a fire hydrant.
Look at the family pic. Woods has TWO dogs. A border collie, and a wheaten terrier. They will know where the fire hydrant is - they are dogs, after all. I have dogs at home too. They KNOW these things.... ;)
The latest rumor on the charges is that he had steroids in his car.
Comments are trashy, little better than DU prattle.
That's what she said.
The fire hydrant is next to his neighbor’s driveway to the right of his house.

You know, he could’ve broken a rib and punctured a lung if he hit the steering wheel bouncing forward from the impact.
Darn. Woods was doing great, playing good golf, coming back from his knee surgery. I really hope the best for him.
“He’s been sober now for the last five years or so.”
Good. How does that information become public?
Very well said! My thoughts also. Prayers for Tiger and his family.
