Free Republic does not and will not support RINOS!! Not now!! Not ever!!
My day after Thanksgiving message | 11/26/200 | Jim Robinson

Posted on 11/26/2009 9:55:25 PM PST by Jim Robinson

Apparently there are still some posters on FR who are fast asleep. Wake up! Dammit! We are in the middle of a conservative rebellion! While you were sleeping we, along with millions of other freedom loving grassroots Americans have participated in hundreds of tea parties all across this great land and fully intend to keep it up until all of America is awake. We are fed up and mad as hell! We grassroots Americans are delivering a message to the ruling class: NO MORE!!

No more big government! No more high taxes! No more government bailouts! No more government takeovers! No government healthcare! No more corruption! No more global baloneyism!!

We're sick and tired of liberals and RINOs running roughshod over our God given Liberty!

We want our country back! We want our freedom back! We want it all back!!

No more socialism!!

Cut the taxes! Cut the spending! Cut the government!

Restore the constitutional limits on government! Restore our freedom!!

And not only no, but HELL NO to liberals and RINOS!!

Free Republic will not support RINOS!! Rudy McRomney, et al, can go straight to hell!!

The strategy is we win, they lose.

Any questions?

The Constitution says it best: we secure liberty for ourselves and our posterity. Our posterity is yet unborn. They are the Unborn.

Legitimate life of mother concerns are the only situations that will leave either the mother or the child dead. It is absolutely a matter of life unavoidably conflicting with life.

Forced rape is a terrorist attack that gives the appearance of being a true conflict of life with life. The violent rape is unavoidable.

Any taking of human life must be by due process of law according to the Constitution.

So in the 2008 Presidential election, you didn’t vote? Or did you vote for a 3rd party, or Obama?

Sorry, honey. You put the (R) before principles. You and your ilk are pushing this country down the slow road. Conservatives aren't. But you keep calling principled conservatism 'moral superiority' and see how that helps get conservatives elected, k?

Tell me, dear, when RINOs like Snowe, Collins, etc. jump on board Obamacare, will that be ok with you? Or will you continue to beat the drum that an (R) is better than nothing?

Why do you think McCain lost? Why do you think Scozzafava lost? Sorry, hon, but we are in the fix we are today because of desperate fear mongering by you and your RINO loving friends.

These extremists here on FR might as well be Dimocrats. The result is the same.

I made the mistake of voting for McCain. And that was a hold my nose and pull the trigger vote. If it hadn’t been for Sarah Palin, I would have written in Fred Thompson.

So, those who want all RINOs gone are extremists now? Honey, you are on the wrong site.

NO, Sweetie, it is YOU who are on the wrong side. I am on the side of advancing a conservative agenda and YOU are on the Dimocrats’ side.

Would you vote for Reagan? How am I doing anything to move the country to the left? I’ll do anything to stop them. YOU are the one who is willing to let the country go to the left because you mistakingly believe that unless a candidate suits you 100%, it is morally superior to allow the extremely liberal RAT win but then YOU accuse ME of moving the country to the left. Wake up. It is YOU who will be moving the country to the left.

BRAVO! BRAVO! I posted this earlier, but it needs to be posted again:

"When I began entering into the give and take of legislative bargaining in Sacramento, a lot of the most radical conservatives who had supported me during the election didn't like it.

"Compromise" was a dirty word to them and they wouldn't face the fact that we couldn't get all of what we wanted today. They wanted all or nothing and they wanted it all at once. If you don't get it all, some said, don't take anything.

"I'd learned while negotiating union contracts that you seldom got everything you asked for. And I agreed with FDR, who said in 1933: 'I have no expectations of making a hit every time I come to bat. What I seek is the highest possible batting average.'

"If you got seventy-five or eighty percent of what you were asking for, I say, you take it and fight for the rest later, and that's what I told these radical conservatives who never got used to it.

- Ronald W. Reagan

Like you, Great Grandma, I'll take an 80% conservative McCain with a smile and joy over a 0% like Obama. And it doesn't mean we settle for McCain, as so many here seem to think you imply; it means you take the victories you can get - whether small or large - and keep working for more victories.

You NEVER reject a win because it's not by a large enough margin. That simply creates defeat, and in the game of politics, defeat is too terrible a price for the Nation to pay. Witness the current Administration's assault on these United States...

I only wish more in this thread had your sensibility, grandma! :)

I will never allow a RAT to defeat a Republican if I have any power to do anything about it
____________________
I’m not a RINO. I am a conservative. However, I am aware that not every Republican is a hard core conservative and I doubt every Republican elected from here on out will always be a hard core conservative. Every Democrat isn’t a hard core liberal(Blue Dogs).
That’s why I’m staying off this thread. It’s not worth my time to fight on here. I know that I will never vote for a liberal and I will also do everything in my power to get them out of office. If it means voting for a Rino, and there are only 2 choices, the Rino or the liberal.... I’m not sitting home to help the Progressive liberal nutjob win and further destroy my country.
We were told, ‘A republic, if you can keep it”. To me, that means whatever it takes. Making sure rats get elected by sitting home if a Rino is the Republican choice is certainly not trying to save the Republic. It’s a good way to make it into a one party system and never get it back. They have to be stopped NOW and I don’t care what it takes to do it. 7 more years of Obongo the Marxist is not an option. Not for me it’s not.
Nobody tells me who I can or cannot vote for. They can preach all day long but when I enter that voting booth, nobody except me and God know who I voted for. I can assure you it won’t be for any damn rat. The only way I would ever vote for a rat is if they were conservative and the Republican candidate was a liberal.

In the 2008 election, there were those who didn’t vote, there were those who voted for Obama to ‘send a message’, there were those who voted third party to ‘send a message’, and there were those who voted for the MILF.
I thought ‘sending messages’ went out of vogue in the Vietnam War as sending messages doesn’t and didn’t work.
Proof of that is the GOP support for people like Scuzzyflava in NY.
And the GOP leadership bluntly stating that they need to lean leftwards to appeal to the voters.
When people vote to ‘send messages’, what the leadership sees is support for leftwards causes.
On the other hand, at this stage, voting for the candidates they put forwards ALSO shows support for leftwards leaning causes.
Due to years of ‘sending messages’.
And some people won’t be happy no matter what candidate is picked.
So the leadership in the parrty sees support for leftwards causes no matter what.
This has to change.
And no, I’m no strategist, I have no idea how ot fix it other than by tarring and feathering the leadership util they figure it out.
But we’re civilised these days, we can’t do that sort of thing.
I know, I’ve seen the images on the nightly news showing me how civilised we are.

I'd learned while negotiating union contracts that you seldom got everything you asked for.

IIRC it was RWR who said that "half a loaf is better than none." He meant that in a negotiation sense.

That is a very pragmatic and useful philosophy.

I made the mistake of voting for McCain.

You did the right thing.

Don't second guess yourself.

Conservatives are confident and self-assured.

In this area, you should be more like me.

I see. Fred was my man, too, until he dropped out of the race. Then I went to the next viable candidate, and so on until the general. And I was darn sure not going to throw my vote away so that the Obamassiah could be elected.

Apparently your personal principles trump what's best for the nation. So be it. I voted for McCain, and in the same situation I'd do it again in a heartbeat.
