The original text. A man lead by God and not an ivy league intellectual. We've come a long way since then, but our foundation is strong. God bless America and Happy Thanksgiving.

I was expecting Obama apologizing for our many past sins, and thanking Allah that we have repented our evil ways and elected America’s first black President, PBUH!

If he ever did such a thing, the narcissist would make it a Thanks Me address.

Can you imagine any of our “leaders” today making so many references to God? They’d be run out of town on a rail. Sad.

I’m sure he didn’t even sound close to a “Barney Frank” when he spoke.

Should be read by all who do not believe America is based on religious morals and principles. We shall again regain our country. Stay safe Stay Free. Happy Thanksgiving.

Considering the British accent, I'd say you're spot on.

Here's a modern version, modeled on George Washington's original.

A 2009 THANKSGIVING DAY PROCLAMATION

Such statements and commitment to the fundamental and foundation moral and republican principles that are the bedrock of this nation stand in stark contrast to what we see in the White House and the halls of Congress today.

THE MAN WHO DESPISES AMERICA

But as George Washington also said, when conteplating the future troubles we would face as a nation and a people,

"The Great Governor of the Universe has led us too long and too far to forsake us in the midst of it. We may, now and then, get bewildered; but trust that there is good sense and virtue enough left to recover the right path. " - George Washington

I believe that with all me heart there is more than enough virtue and good sense left, and that we are already seeing it rise up in opposition to today's infrngements and betrayals.

Me too. But then I saw “President’s” was NOT in quotes, so it was a real President, who was committed to defending and protecting and respecting his nation.

Not an impostor, like “President” Obama.

Thanks for the link. Here are a few excepts from the narcissist's Thanks Me address:

"The investments we have made and tough steps we have taken have helped break the back of the recession, and now our economy is finally growing again. But as I said when I took office, job recovery from this crisis would not come easily or quickly...So we’ve made progress. But we cannot rest – and my administration will not rest – until we have revived this economy...Next week, I’ll be meeting with owners of large and small businesses, labor leaders, and non-for-profits from across the country..."
