WASHINGTON - Crashing a state dinner at the White House apparently takes a security breakdown as well as some kind of nerve.
The Secret Service is looking into its own security procedures after determining that a Virginia couple, Michaele and Tareq Salahi, managed to slip into Tuesday night's state dinner at the White House even though they were not on the guest list, agency spokesman Ed Donovan said.
President Barack Obama was never in any danger because the party crashers went through the same security screening for weapons as the 300-plus people actually invited to the dinner honoring Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Donovan said.

We are supposed to believe that Arabs named “salahi” CRASHED the dinner? There is something wrong with this story — and not just with the fact that someone slipped by the Secret Service. They must be agents.

Tareq SalahiThere must be some mistake here. Anyone named Tareq would be welcomed by America's first muslim president.

Shit, it would have been easier to maintain a list who wasn’t invited to this thing.

This is great! They got in because of their names! This was a PC move by the couple...the SS wouldn’t dare challenge them crashing the party for fear they would be profiling!
To: IbJensen
Well, we could be bitterly sarcastic and say, since this new White House refuses to say anything about us as a nation still being in a global hot war on Islamofascism which started on 9-11-01, then apparantly security can be relaxed at various places like the White House because of the end of the war, and therefore we are not on a war footing, what's the big deal? /sarc
Idiots.

I wonder if security is getting lax due to the way the security details are being treated. Let's see, piss off the CIA, criminally prosecute Navy SEALS, and give terrorists a public platform to disclose our interrogation techniques. Nah, that won't piss off agents that truly love their country.

These aren’t radical muslims, they’re well known DC socialites. Minimal digging on the net tells me that they’ve been part of the DC social scene for years.

Shouldn’t matter who they are. Not on the list? Should not pass the first screen.
Period.

Remember the ‘butt bomber’ in Saudi Arabia a couple of months ago??
I kinda doubt that the ‘security screenings’ were *that* thorough.... ;)
