Sign the Manhattan Declaration
http://manhattandeclaration.org/sign-the-declaration ^

We are Orthodox, Catholic, and evangelical Christians who have united at this hour to reaffirm fundamental truths about justice and the common good, and to call upon our fellow citizens, believers and non-believers alike, to join us in defending them. These truths are:

1.the sanctity of human life 2.the dignity of marriage as the conjugal union of husband and wife 3.the rights of conscience and religious liberty. Inasmuch as these truths are foundational to human dignity and the well-being of society, they are inviolable and non-negotiable. Because they are increasingly under assault from powerful forces in our culture, we are compelled today to speak out forcefully in their defense, and to commit ourselves to honoring them fully no matter what pressures are brought upon us and our institutions to abandon or compromise them. We make this commitment not as partisans of any political group but as followers of Jesus Christ, the crucified and risen Lord, who is the Way, the Truth, and the Life.

No, the author is one of the finest Bible-teaching pastors in the US, and a frequent guest on Larry King Live. You will know which one he is because he is the one who is always defending the Gospel and the Bible!

I am in the middle of writing a full response to the whole document - its contents, its context, its authors, its signers, and its theological, historical and political import - which, when complete, I will post on AIPNews.com, at LifeandLibertyReport.com, and here. LORD willing, that will be later today, but we’ll see.

Each to his own. I am not likely to take guidance from anyone who is a frequent guest on Larry King Live and I saw nothing on this mans Internet site that would lead me to believe he is anything but a small minded man whose hubris leads him to far overestimate his own wisdom and knowledge.

You obviously do not know John MacArthur. He is without a doubt one of the finest Bible teachers alive today. Your estimate of him is woefully lacking. You say you looked at his web site. Did you look at any of the sermons he has preached over the last 40 years?

You might want to check out this one sermon called A Nation Abandoned By God. There is no hubris in this man at all!

BTW - what qualifies you to determine that he is a "small minded man whose hubris leads him to far overestimate his own wisdom and knowledge" ??

Read the sermon, it only reinforces my view that this is a very pretentious man. He knows God's mind? He knows if God has abandoned a nation? What drivel! God abandons no one. People abandon God. God is always with me, not because of anything I do, but because he is my God who has promised to be with me forever. God has not "abandoned" any country, He is the God of all people, not only those in specific geographical areas.

As I said, each to his own. Those joining in this great cause against materialistic madmen will not decry your absence.

Done!

I’ve also sent the link to two Catholic Bishops whose names I didn’t see. I cannot believe that the USCCB hasn’t asked ALL Bishops to add their names.

Also sending to every Catholic I know!

God abandons noone? Read Romans 1. It is clear, God has abandoned someone...it says so right there! Or, does the Bible not speak truth?
