1 Do not let initial reaction and raw emotion dictate your response
2 Today with internet it is so easy to look something up and be say 90 percent certain
3 Speak up but do it in a loving manner
You do that you will be right most of the time and I sometimes do only #1 also it is easy to do but it takes patients and practice
Liberalism is a VILE MENTAL DISEASE!!
I hope they do this. It will backfire on them like they won’t believe. Just like the sex abuse scandal did.
AMEN!
Good example.
You obviously work from the "inside" and take everything according to your beliefs. I have been outside from the church for a long time hoping that someday I would be worthy of reconciling with it but when I was ready to do it, the scandals happened and they really, really shocked me... Especially the way Rome (the big guys) reacted to it.
In short, I see the church from the "outside" so to speak. I see a church that is still "dirty" by what happened and still - ARROGANTLY - has not done ENOUGH to clean itself up, etc, etc, etc.
I know you will probably be offended by my views and will never agree with them the way I think I will never agree with yours. Too bad.
Ok, had enough for today. Bye
Good, then we can get rid of the priests who are violating their vows. That would be wonderful.
I could more easily change my country than my Faith.
At my parish I am good friends with the priest, I tell him like it is, others go straight to the bishop. Biblically, we are to take these things directly to our brother and then if they refuse to listen then take it to the whole church.
I would add that they don’t know what it means to be Christian.
If they think that they can tag anyone who is imperfect and attends church as a hypocrite then they clearly do not understand Christianity.
Ohhh.... I can't... I am too mad about it... It almost feels as if my own father had "abused" me. Thanks God I never had an experience like that myself... but as always feel with the "victims" of anything!... (killers, rapes, whatever it maybe), I am with them 100%. If something ugly like that would have happened to me, I think I would be able to actually kill the person who did it to me: priest, father whatever. Yes I know, I am not a fan of "turning the other chick" easily... :) sorry... far from being a saint.
Great idea.
Isn’t extortion supposed to be illegal?
It would seem to me that before you accuse someone of being a homosexual that you would have to have evidence or proof. If you accuse someone of being a homosexual and do not have the proof, you can be sued for slander. There is an axiom: he who asserts must prove. Anyone can accuse anyone of anything, but if you do, you better be able to prove it. If a priest is a homosexual but does not practice it, there is no way to prove that he is a homosexual. It is only “active” homosexuals that are open to exposure. If a priest or bishop is an active homosexual, they need to go.
You see the Church though the eyes of its enemies, which include most prominently the gay activists who scorn the Church of hypocrisy while refusing to acknowledge that the evils these men did were homosexual acts. Such don’t hate the Church, or indeed all Christians, for the evil they does but for the good they do. To them preaching the Gospel is an evil thing.
So, in essence, you’ve excommunicated yourself over the failings of certain people?
I would just ask you to reflect on the actions of the Apostles after Judas betrayed Christ - their purposeful self-exclusion from the crucifixion (except for John), and their “re-entry” into belief when Jesus stood before them.
I’m sure you would have had beefs with the way Christ let Judas betray him like that, maybe even demanded reforms and explanations from the Lord. But would any of the Apostles been better off on that day He stood before them, if they decided to spend it upbraiding Him for scandalizing them like that?
I’m not offended by your views, just puzzled by anyone who prefers to be “outside” the ark rather than “inside”, in spite of the smelly animals that are riding along.
That's not how it works in the real world, and you know it. Slander suits are notoriously difficult to prove, and by trying to disprove it in a public fashion, the slander keeps getting repeated over and over to the detriment of the innocent victim. Sooner or later, it becomes the truth.
Hmmm... don't understand what you are saying: ok, so I must be an enemy of the church..... And I must be gay (since they are the enemies of the church!)... the rest, I don't understand.
